Gangnam Station bakery: ube cheesecake & apple pie, Bakerist Brown
In short
Bakerist Brown is a large bakery café that fills an entire red-brick building in the alley behind Gangnam CGV, between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station in Seoul. At Bakerist Brown, the writer browsed the showcase, from the new summer mango croissant and mango kouign-amann to Bamtimalppang salt bread, yakgwa (Korean honey cookie) pudding and ube cheesecake. The writer then tried a hot café latte, an iced black sesame latte, Gangnam Sand and apple pie. Earl Grey and caramel were the best Gangnam Sand flavors, and Bakerist Brown is a Gangnam Station bakery where choosing is half the fun.

Bakerist Brown is a popular Sinnonhyeon Station bakery for people looking for a big bakery café between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station. The coffee is good and the bread selection is huge, so choosing is half the fun. I had a sweet, happy time at this Gangnam Station bakery café.

Where is Bakerist Brown near Gangnam Station?
Bakerist Brown is in a red-brick building a little way up the alley behind Gangnam CGV. The address is 21 Gangnam-daero 102-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea.

The glass entrance door is covered with photos of the menu, and the bright colors look so appealing just from outside.

These are photos of the strawberry desserts from the spring strawberry season! They look so good haha

What are Bakerist Brown's signature drinks?
The signature drinks are salt cream coffee, cream cheese latte and black sesame latte. Maybe because they're signatures, they're even posted as a poster at the entrance.
The moment you step inside, the sweet smell of butter fills the air, so you get the joy of looking and the joy of smelling at once at this Gangnam Station bakery café.
What breads are in the Bakerist Brown showcase?
The showcase holds all kinds of desserts, so just browsing is fun. The Gangnam Sand is a great gift item and easy to take away too ^_^
New for summer: mango croissant and mango kouign-amann
Bakerist Brown makes its desserts with the best fruit of each season. For summer they launched a mango croissant and a mango kouign-amann (caramelized laminated pastry), and just look at them, there's no way these taste bad ㅠㅠㅠㅠ!!!!

The plain croissant has a lovely look, with the color shifting slightly along each layer. The pain au chocolat looks fluffy and delicious, and the salted caramel croissant is a combination that can't go wrong!!

Pies and Bamtimalppang salt bread
The apple crumble pie and the very berry pie both have bright colors and look so good!!!! The sweet pumpkin pie really keeps that yellow pumpkin color!!!!
A funny-looking turban shell bun (sora-ppang) and salt bread, hahaha. And the salt bread is named Bamtimalppang, which made me laugh even harder hahahaha

Madeleines look great, great, great!
The dirty chocolate and the egg tart look so good too haha

As a proper Gangnam salt bread hotspot, Bakerist Brown has many kinds of salt bread.

The crispy-looking pies look good too.

Basil cream cheese twist roll and bear-shaped pastry loaf
The basil cream cheese twist roll looks savory enough to go with a beer. The pastry sausage looks tasty too, and what is this bear-shaped pastry loaf?! hahaha

Yakgwa pudding, pavlova and ube cheesecake
Banana pudding is familiar enough, but what on earth does yakgwa (traditional honey cookie) pudding taste like..?!?!?!

You can also find a pavlova made with softly whipped egg-white meringue, and an ube cheesecake with an alluring purple color.

There was a sample of butter tteok (butter rice cake), and they give a free heart pie when you buy a pudding, ooh?!?!

The café sells its own merchandise too.

How big is Bakerist Brown?
Bakerist Brown uses the entire building as a café, making it a big café near Gangnam Station. With that size comes plenty of people, too.

Drinks and desserts we tried at Bakerist Brown
I tried a nice variety: two drinks (a hot café latte and an iced black sesame latte), a Gangnam Sand and an apple pie.
Best Gangnam Sand flavors: Earl Grey and caramel
The dessert called Gangnam Sand has soft cream inside a crisp cookie, so it really tastes like a high-end dessert. There's one of each flavor, and personally Earl Grey and caramel were the best.
Café latte and iced black sesame latte
A warm, nutty café latte, nice and solid haha
I ordered the black sesame latte iced, and I really liked its nutty flavor haha
I finished with the apple pie as dessert too haha. At Bakerist Brown, a big café in Gangnam Station where you can enjoy tasty desserts and coffee, I had a lovely time.
