Mugyo-dong beer pub: chicken strips with 3 sauces, Daily Fix Euljiro

This is the very place that made me fall for handmade burgers after I tried the Seoul National Univ. Station branch of Daily Fix! It turns out there's one in Euljiro near my office too, so I went for dinner after work. It's a hip pub-style spot that also sells a variety of draft beers, and it was, once again, better than I expected, a great find near Euljiro 1-ga.

Is Daily Fix Euljiro a good second-round spot near Mugyo-dong?

Daily Fix Euljiro is a 3-minute walk from Euljiro 1-ga Station. It's also walkable from City Hall Station and Gwanghwamun Station; walking from Gwanghwamun Square took me about 10 minutes.

It's on the ground floor of the Fastfive Euljiro building, so it was easy to find. It's right next to the Mugyo-dong food alley, so it looked like a great place to stop by for a second round.

Inside, the vibe is so trendy and hip that I wondered if it was really a burger place. It feels like you should be having a draft beer at the standing spots, haha.

The tables range from seats for two to group tables, and the sofas were super soft and comfy.

There's a bar table too, and quite a few people were actually eating alone.

How does the Daily Fix Philly cheesesteak sandwich taste?

I ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich 🥪 as a set with 18mm fries and a drink.

The sandwich is packed with salty bulgogi (marinated beef), and with the cheese on top it's hefty and rich. The bread is plain and clean-tasting, which actually cuts the richness.

Grilled onions and vegetables turn up here and there as you chew, so the texture and the flavor balance worked nicely together.

How thick are Daily Fix's 18mm fries?

Daily Fix's 18mm fries are 18mm thick, just like the name says. I've never seen fries this thick! 🤣 If you expect a regular burger-joint fry, it's definitely different. Rather than the crunch of thin fries, you get far more fluffiness and heft.

The outside is lightly crisp, but the inside is soft and full, like steamed or mashed potato. Eaten with a burger-joint sandwich in Euljiro, it was properly filling.

Daily Fix chicken strips: comparing the 3 sauces

My friend's pick: the chicken strips 🍗! Daily Fix's chicken strips are chicken thigh fried in stick shapes, so the pieces are really big.

They come with Cheongyang mayo sauce (made with spicy Korean chili), curry ranch sauce and spicy coleslaw.

The coating isn't too thick and it's crunchy. It's less tender and more of a crisp, crackly bite. The brine is nicely salty, so even without sauce the seasoning was just right.

Still, I can't give up the sauces 😙 I liked the Cheongyang mayo because it's sweet. The curry ranch is strongly salty, so I think opinions will be split.

The spicy coleslaw is the kick of the chicken strips. Have it when things start to feel a little heavy and it resets your palate! It's also good piled on the chicken. The sauce and slaw lineup is great, and the crunchy saltiness makes it perfect beer food.
