The day I got a men's part perm at Maple Hair Gwangmyeong Sageori Station Branch
Today I went to Maple Hair in Gwangmyeong Sageori and got a men's part perm~~ My hair turned out great, and the staff were so kind that my satisfaction was through the roof!!!

Maple Hair Gwangmyeong Sageori is a 3-minute walk from Exit 3 of Gwangmyeong Sageori Station. It's right by the station, so it was really easy to find!
Go up to the 2nd floor and you'll see the Maple Hair salon, with its clean interior!
A bright interior with open windows
The interior of Maple Hair is seriously nice!! It has a natural feel, and while salons often keep their windows shut, here they were open, so it felt bright and airy and I was comfortable the whole time.
I sat in this seat for the perm.
The deputy director (buwonjang) asked in detail what kind of hair I wanted, and I asked for a natural men's part perm.
How much is a men's part perm + down perm?
At Maple Hair the part perm counts as a regular perm at ₩90,000, and adding a down perm for ₩20,000 made it ₩110,000 in total! There was a first-visit discount on top of that.
I'd been thinking salon prices these days are absurdly expensive, but Maple Hair's prices were reasonable. It struck me as a kind-hearted salon.
Before the treatment and consultation
BEFORE: it had been a while since my last perm, and my hair was long and a bit messy-looking. That's the before!!!
The treatment started only after a thorough talk about which style would suit me. They asked in detail what style I wanted, so I showed them photos, and they said they'd match it as closely as possible to what suits me!!
Snacks and drinks during the treatment
Maple Hair gave me plenty of snacks so I wouldn't get hungry during the treatment! You can choose coffee, aloe juice and so on, but I had water this time. They floated cold ice in it, which put me in a good mood!
A part perm rolled carefully by the deputy director herself
The deputy director at Maple Hair was extremely meticulous. Some salons have a staff member help out, and sometimes the result ends up a little asymmetrical, but here the deputy director rolled every single strand by hand.
She also kept attentively checking whether I felt any discomfort!
Did it sting the scalp?
Maple Hair says it uses natural solutions and vegan, low-irritation products, and maybe that's why: I'm normally someone who feels stinging easily, but it didn't sting at all!!
I wore the alien cap, haha. It was warm and nice.
While waiting, I could sit by the window with a book or my phone, so I got to rest comfortably!!
The finished part perm + down perm
After about 20–30 minutes, my hair was done!!! It came out full of perm body, and I could see the perm had worked successfully!
AFTER
Neat and tidy hair!!! Thanks to the down perm, the front, sides and back don't puff up, but they didn't press it down too flat either, so it feels like a natural result!!
My first impression has definitely changed, hahaha. I like how clean it looks.
Lastly, they tucked a cheerful four-leaf clover in with my business card! I've had a lot going on lately where I could use some luck, and seeing this four-leaf clover cheered me up.

Points are generous as well, 5% back on cash and 3% on card, and writing a review gets you another 5% off, so you can get your hair done at a really low price. Places like this are rare these days, and I felt Maple Hair in Gwangmyeong is special!!
I also heard that part of the profits from hair done at Maple Hair goes to regular donations...! However much a business earns, donating isn't easy, so I could really feel the shop's philosophy and was impressed. That's so admirable.
Overall verdict
Overall, Maple Hair had a lovely atmosphere, and really, truly every staff member was kind, so it was a salon that left me feeling good!! I'd like to visit again next time. If you're looking for a hair salon in Gwangmyeong, I totally recommend Maple Hair!!
