In short
Hoppydopi is a café near Tongbok Market Station in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi, that bakes its own cakes and breads. As a quiet solo break and first meal of the day, the writer had a decaf americano (5,300 won), egg mayo salt bread (5,500 won), pain suisse (5,000 won) and chocolate banana bread (4,300 won). What is Hoppydopi, the café near Tongbok Market Station in Pyeongtaek, like?
Hoppydopi (호피도피, written Hoffee Doffee on the sign) is a café with a lovely atmosphere near Tongbok Market Station in Pyeongtaek, and it makes its own desserts. I've been living so, so busily lately that I really needed some healing time all to myself! So this time I went to Hoppydopi! The mood was great, but what excited me most was that they make the desserts themselves!!
Desserts really are love.. I ate the homemade desserts and they were so good, so I got properly healed!! haha It's a great café to visit when you want a short break from a busy day!

Is it a good café in Pyeongtaek for resting quietly on your own?
I found Hoppydopi by chance while searching Pyeongtaek for a quiet, cozy café! When life is this busy, spending time alone somewhere with a nice atmosphere every now and then is really good!!
I'd been looking for a space where I could rest quietly and enjoy coffee and dessert, rather than somewhere noisy, and I was so happy to find a café I liked!

A space with the owner's knitted works and books
Another charm of Hoppydopi is that you can look at works the owner knitted by hand!! Seeing pieces made one by one with such care warmed my heart, too!
There are also all kinds of books in the café, so it seemed like a nice place to read leisurely over a coffee!!

What are the desserts and drinks like at Hoppydopi?
Hoppydopi has a dessert lineup ranging from homemade cakes to a variety of baked goods. This was my first meal of the day, so I was so, so hungry!! I hurried to order coffee and dessert first!!
And the dessert lineup here is no joke!! A bread lover can't just walk past a place like this, right?! hahaha The thought of enjoying tasty desserts with coffee had me excited from the moment I ordered!!

You order easily at a kiosk at Hoppydopi!! They have everything from coffee to cold brew, plus a range of other drinks and teas! Coffee lovers are covered, and people who don't usually drink coffee can pick something to suit their taste too!!
With so many options, I agonized over what to eat for ages!! haha When you're at a café, you just can't give up either coffee or dessert!!

What I ordered and the prices
- Decaf americano ₩5,300
- Egg mayo salt bread (salt bread: a buttery roll with a salted crust) ₩5,500
- Pain suisse (a chocolate-filled Viennoiserie pastry) ₩5,000
- Chocolate banana bread ₩4,300

How does the decaf americano at Hoppydopi taste?
The Hoppydopi decaf americano (₩5,300) had a subtle orange aroma and a flavor like cacao nibs. Wow... even though it's decaf, the aroma and taste were really appealing!! That bittersweet yet fragrant feeling was so good!!
It wasn't just an ordinary americano; more complex flavors showed up the more I drank, which made it even more memorable! If you love coffee, I really hope you try a coffee this appealing!!

What are the chocolate banana bread and pain suisse like for chocolate lovers?
The Hoppydopi chocolate banana bread (₩4,300) has a dense, fudgy texture, so chocolate lovers will really like it, and the pain suisse (₩5,000) had incredibly moist chocolate inside and was so good!! I'm a total chocolate nerd, you know?! It's the kind of taste that makes your eyes pop open!
Personally, I think adding ice cream on the side would be a dream combination: cool, smooth ice cream on sweet, fudgy bread!! But the weather was cold that day, so I didn't add ice cream!! hahaha When it warms up, I definitely want to try it with ice cream!!

Is the egg mayo salt bread worth eating as a first meal?
The Hoppydopi egg mayo salt bread (₩5,500) pairs savory, smooth egg mayo with the signature flavor of salt bread, and it tasted as upscale as something from a hotel bakery. I was so hungry that day that I ate it alongside the rest, and guys... this was honestly so good!! TT_TT They go together perfectly!!
I ordered it just to fill my stomach simply, but the quality was so much better than I expected that I was surprised!! hahaha Homemade desserts and bakery items really are different!! Eating it with coffee was filling, and it felt like enjoying a proper brunch!!
