Suwon brunch restaurant honeycomb fruit French toast: Kueodeukkutteu
In short
Kueodeukkutteu is a dog-friendly brunch and Western restaurant on Sinpung-ro in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, with seating on two floors and a wide outdoor terrace. Arriving right at the 11:30 opening with a friend, the writer ordered lemon butter pasta, honeycomb seasonal fruit French toast, and perilla oil ice cream, all ordered by QR code at the table. The terrace alone makes Kueodeukkutteu worth a second visit once the heat lets up.

I sometimes make plans with friends in Haenggung-dong, Suwon. There's fun in browsing the cute little shops, and the area is packed with photo booths, photogenic cafés, and good restaurants.
When I finally set a date with a friend I hadn't seen in a while, we searched hard for where to go and landed on Kueodeukkutteu (쿠어드꾸뜨), which has a Haenggung-dong café terrace and allows dogs. We lost track of time eating delicious food and catching up — let me share the vibe!
Kueodeukkutteu is open daily from 11:30 to 20:30.

Where Kueodeukkutteu is in Haenggung-dong, and where to park
Kueodeukkutteu is on Sinpung-ro in Haenggung-dong, Suwon. Park at Jang-andong Public Parking Lot, and turning left from the parking lot entrance brings it right into view. It recreates the atmosphere of an old house with distinctive touches, giving off that feeling you can only get in Haenggung-dong.

Even the path to the entrance is dotted with various things to look at, so my steps felt light before I even walked in. If you set up notifications on Naver, there's a coupon for a free glass of wine, so it's worth setting that up in advance.

The terrace at Kueodeukkutteu, and bringing your dog
Kueodeukkutteu has a wide outdoor terrace spread across a generous space. Once the heat eases up a bit, it looks like a great spot to enjoy brunch while taking in the natural breeze. It's also dog-friendly, so if you're heading to Haenggung-dong with your dog, this place is worth putting at the top of your list.

It has the Haenggung-dong café terrace, but inside it's a bit cooler and has a different mood from what you see outside. There are plenty of tables and the spaces are well divided, so it never felt cramped.

Kueodeukkutteu's menu and how QR ordering works
At Kueodeukkutteu, you order from your phone using the QR code posted at each table. The menu is varied too — from the Kkutteu steak main dish to white ragu open toast, manjo truffle green pea risotto, carrot aglio olio, and egg in hell, there's a good lineup of distinctive dishes suited for anytime from lunch through dinner.

Since we visited right at opening time today, we ordered one meal dish plus the honeycomb seasonal fruit French toast. That alone was plenty for two people.

The view outside came through brightly, so the sightlines were great, and even though it was hot, the weather was clear, so eating a delicious meal in a cool space was simply lovely. To drink, we had a cool iced Americano alongside the food.

Lemon butter pasta and honeycomb seasonal fruit French toast
The lemon butter pasta didn't have an overpowering lemon scent — instead, the sauce's moderately fresh, tangy flavor stood out. It tasted good even after sitting a while, so there was no better dish for a long chat.

The toast, piled high with seasonal fruit, was also great for cutting and sharing. Freshness matters most for toast like this, and it passed with flying colors. Since the shop is split across two floors, I'd like to eat on the 2nd floor next time.

The granola served alongside the fruit wasn't overly sweet either, which was a pleasant surprise. With honey piled on in a whole chunk, it looked great and tasted great, so I kept reaching for more.

Perilla oil ice cream for dessert
We finished a filling brunch, but I wanted something cool to cleanse the palate. Among the dessert options was perilla oil ice cream, so I ordered it half out of curiosity, half in anticipation. It's shaped with a groove carved into the ice cream, topped with nutty perilla oil and sesame seeds.

Taking a big spoonful, it was far nuttier and sweeter than I expected, all blending together — a special ice cream delicacy, and I finished it without leaving a bite. Wrapping up with the ice cream, standing up felt like I'd just finished a full course meal.

The outdoor terrace is wide open, so once the weather gets a little milder, I want to visit again this Haenggung-dong café terrace spot — brunch time at Kueodeukkutteu was a joy.
