What kind of café is Eojil In near Wangsimni Station?

Even though I've been to Wangsimni Station so many times, I somehow missed this hidden café until now — such a waste. I found out about it through a sponsored visit and instantly became a regular: Eojil In, a Wangsimni dessert café.

I thought I basically knew the whole area around Wangsimni Station, but when I visited Eojil In and saw how packed it was with customers, I wondered — did everyone already know about this place except me? Haha.

The moment I saw the display case at the entrance lined with my beloved Basque cheesecake, row after row, I just knew: this place is legit ^^

Since it's such a popular dessert café, you have to check for an open table before you even order. Here's my review of Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch.

It's located inside the Hanyang University food alley, so basically every Hanyang student knows it — the place was packed.

Where Eojil In is, opening hours and parking

Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch occupies both the 1st and 2nd floors at 1-26 Haengdang-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. It's open daily from 09:00 to 22:00, last order.

Great spot to stop by after shopping at Olive Young, Daiso, or E-mart in the mall.

Inside the two floors and the 2F window seats

It's a large two-story Wangsimni café, and there's a spacious 2nd floor you reach by stairs.

The floor-to-ceiling window view on the 1st floor is pretty too, but what made it special was how well every space was separated from the others.

There are plenty of tables, but there are just as many customers, so you need to stake out a seat before ordering your menu ^^

Everyone has their own preference for table spots, right? There are sofa tables as well as sturdy wooden chair tables.

We chose a window table on the 2nd floor. I liked that the tables were nice and roomy, not tiny. Looking out at the Hanyang University street through the flowing curtains gave a really calming vibe.

I also spotted foreign customers coming for the Wangsimni dessert café scene — there are a lot of international students studying at Hanyang University. I only just found out, but apparently even foreign visitors already know about Eojil In ^^

What we ordered at Eojil In and what it cost

At Eojil In, we ordered an iced Americano (₩5,000), a vanilla Americano (₩5,900), Basque cheesecake (₩5,900), Dojima roll (₩5,800), and a financier (₩2,800), for a total of ₩25,500. We picked three desserts — even after a meal, there's always room for dessert, right? Haha.

Is the thick Basque cheesecake worth it?

They make their bakery items fresh every day, apparently at a separate building near the café.

There were what looked like black sesame flecks or maybe just char on the bottom, and it was genuinely thick. I'm a Basque cheesecake lover, and tasting Eojil In's version made me fall for it — now I want to order a whole cake and eat as much as I want.

It was truly, exceptionally delicious.

Dojima roll: soft cream and sponge

We also ordered a roll cake — I'm not usually into overly sweet things, but this one drew me in.

The soft roll cake had whipped cream inside that wasn't too sweet or heavy, and it tasted great. You could tell they used good ingredients.

Financier for 2,800 won

The financier was hard — hard enough that it wasn't easy to cut ^^ But it had a plain, nutty flavor.

Final verdict on Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch

If it hadn't been for the sponsored campaign, I'd still have no idea this hidden Wangsimni dessert café, Eojil In, existed. With its two-story layout, it has quite a lot of seating — probably one of the biggest cafés among the Hanyang University food alley spots. Every little space was cute and pretty.

The Basque cheesecake is especially delicious, so definitely try it. Next time, I'm thinking of ordering a whole cake so I can eat as much as I want.

If you're looking for a bakery café near Wangsimni Station, Eojil In is my number one recommendation. Delicious desserts matter so much to me ^^ The atmosphere is pretty and not noisy, so I'd recommend it whether you're going solo, on a date, or on a blind date.
