Where is Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Hyoja Branch?
Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Hyoja Branch is a katsu restaurant located at 222 Seobudaeseong-ro, 1st floor, in Hyoja-dong, Chuncheon. It's near Gangwon National University, so it seems to get a lot of orders from students and through delivery apps.

Today I'm bringing you my review of 'Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Hyoja Branch' located in Hyoja-dong, Chuncheon haha. The white building already had a great atmosphere from outside, so I felt good just walking in.
Seating and atmosphere: is Jeongseong Katsu good for eating alone?
Inside Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Hyoja Branch there are plenty of tables, so groups can be accommodated, and there are also 2-person tables, making it comfortable for solo diners too. The warm-toned furniture gave it a nice atmosphere.

The inside was so tidy it was almost surprising — really impressive. The warm-toned furniture arrangement gave off a great vibe.

With this many tables, it seems like it could easily handle group customers too. Since there are also 2-person tables for solo dining, it's a place that can satisfy anyone, whoever you come with!
A restroom with a mouthwash dispenser

The restroom inside was so clean, and there are two sinks — one inside and one outside — with the outside one being a bit bigger haha. And there was a gargle dispenser right there in the restroom, something I hadn't seen anywhere else — I loved it! Restroom quality-wise, this was the best I've seen among restaurants I've visited.
Menu lineup and what three people paid
Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Hyoja Branch has a wide menu range, from their signature Jeongseong Mixed Katsu to hamburg steak, pasta, Korean snacks (bunsik), and gyudon (beef rice bowl). This time, three of us ordered the Jeongseong Mixed Katsu Set (₩13,900), the Triple Mixed Katsu Set (₩14,900), the spicy Pork Jowl Katsu Set (₩14,900), and a Pepsi Zero (₩2,000), for a total of ₩45,700.

I liked that they have such a diverse menu, from their signature Jeongseong Mixed Katsu to hamburg steak, pasta, bunsik, and gyudon haha. Having a menu that respects everyone's different tastes feels like a great opportunity from a customer's perspective.

What I ordered: Jeongseong Mixed Katsu Set 13,900 Triple Mixed Katsu Set 14,900 Pork Jowl Katsu Set 14,900 *spicy Pepsi Zero 2,000 Total payment came to ₩45,700!
There's a choice between spicy/jeongseong options, which is just choosing the sauce drizzled on the salad, so keep that in mind.

I heard that when writing a review for a table of up to 3 people, you get a drink, sashimi katsu, and cold buckwheat noodles included. It seems like the side dishes alone could fill you up. Wifi connects via QR code, which felt really convenient haha.
What's at the self-serve bar?

You can use the self-bar comfortably without feeling like anyone's watching. Best to just take what you need and what you'll actually eat, right? haha
Triple Mixed Katsu Set, 14,900 won: tenderloin, pork loin and cheese
The Triple Mixed Katsu Set is ₩14,900 and comes with tenderloin, pork loin, and cheese katsu all on one table. It came with katsu sauce, salt, wasabi, udon broth, salad, and rice too, so the spread felt really full.

Triple Mixed Katsu Set, ₩14,900. I really loved everything laid out on this big spread — there's sauce to dip the katsu in, plus salt and wasabi, along with udon broth, salad, and rice, so I could try a bit of everything and was really looking forward to it.

The mixed set is made up of tenderloin, pork loin, and cheese, so being able to eat a variety felt like a real advantage. Tenderloin katsu is my favorite, and it was cooked to exactly the right doneness, so I enjoyed it a lot haha.

Cheese is a winning combination that can't go wrong. Dipping it deep into the accompanying katsu sauce made me smile while eating haha.
Jeongseong Mixed Katsu Set, 13,900 won: the one with fried shrimp
The Jeongseong Mixed Katsu Set is ₩13,900, and unlike the Triple set, it has a piece of fried shrimp instead of cheese. My friend who came with me said the fried shrimp tasted amazing haha.

The composition is really well put together, so you can order based on your preference.

Doesn't it look delicious just from the photo? The breading was crispy and delicious, while the meat inside was so tender — you can really feel the textbook definition of crispy outside, juicy inside haha.
Pork Jowl Katsu Set, 14,900 won: how spicy is the spicy option?
The Pork Jowl Katsu Set is ₩14,900, and if you order the spicy option, the cabbage salad sauce switches to a spicy sauce. Topping the thinly fried pork jowl with wasabi kept it from being greasy, and the portion was bigger than expected.

Pork jowl katsu was a menu item I'd never seen before, so I tried it when my friend ordered it. The tender pork jowl, thinly fried and topped with wasabi, wasn't too greasy at all and didn't get tiring to eat. The portion was bigger than expected, so keep that in mind haha.

If you choose spicy, the cabbage salad sauce is switched to a spicy sauce haha. This cabbage salad really cuts through the greasiness, so this combination wasn't bad at all.
Final verdict on Jeongseong Katsu Chuncheon Hyoja Branch

True to its name, 'Jeongseong' (meaning 'sincerity/devotion'), the katsu really felt fried with care haha. Katsu quality these days is really no joke. If this place were closer to my house, I think I'd visit often, T_T.

I feel so happy to have discovered a great katsu place while visiting Chuncheon. The quality held up against most dedicated katsu restaurants I've been to, and from the spotless atmosphere to the taste, this place had nothing to be embarrassed about!! I'd definitely recommend it to Gangwon National University students or anyone living nearby.
