Deombeogeo Bonjeom is a popular handmade burger place in Yeonnam-dong near Hongik Univ. Station, and even though I went at 2 p.m., the hall was full of people. It was a proper autumn day, so I made a trip to Yeonnam-dong for the first time in a while, and since I was there anyway, I stopped by Deombeogeo, one of the well-known handmade burger places in the neighborhood~~

It has really been a long time since I came to this Hongik Univ. Station and Yeonnam-dong area, and maybe because the weather had cooled down, Yeonnam-dong looked packed and lively, which I liked~

Deombeogeo has lots of customers and lots of delivery orders too, so even though I went at 2 p.m., the hall had plenty of people~

What are the menu and prices at Deombeogeo?

Deombeogeo Bonjeom takes orders at a kiosk. The signature Deom Burger is ₩13,900, and a set adds ₩5,000 to the single price. On the kiosk burger menu, Budweiser 500ml 1+1 caught my eye~ As you'd expect from a Yeonnam-dong handmade burger favorite, burgers and beer are an option~

At Deombeogeo Bonjeom you can swap the set side for a variety of options, and you can put ingredients like cheese, onion, tomato, bacon and lettuce into the burger however you like. This was the best thing about Deombeogeo.

Drinks are unlimited, and you can set up your handmade burger however you want: cheese, onion, tomato, bacon, and veggies like lettuce all go in, so I got to eat a properly customized handmade burger~

I had my Deom Burger set up with 2 extra bacon slices and extra tomato~~ And for the side, I chose the boneless whole-drumstick chicken~

Deombeogeo Bonjeom's atmosphere and amenities

Deombeogeo Bonjeom is a Yeonnam-dong handmade burger place with an American vibe, and being on the 2nd floor, looking down across the street was quite fun~ By the way, since this is Hongdae Yeonnam-dong, even the CU convenience store is decorated like that, huh~ Anyway, a handmade burger eaten in such a properly hip place is naturally going to taste good~

Because the burgers are handmade, the cooking time is a bit long and I had to wait, but it was nice because looking around the interior was fun.

Also, when you eat chicken or a handmade burger with your hands, you get messy, and Deombeogeo has a sink at the entrance, which is really nice~ Then you fill your drink at the dispenser and carry it to your seat~~

How does the Deom Burger with bacon and tomato taste?

The Deom Burger with 2 extra bacon slices and tomato had one side of the bun toasted for a grilled flavor, and the patty was thick, so I didn't need an extra patty. Here's my customized Deom Burger~~ and a really big whole-drumstick chicken too~~!!

I liked that one side of the bun was properly toasted for that grilled taste. I filmed a video before eating the burger~~ Wow, with cheese, tomato and bacon all in there~ it turned out to be a really appetizing handmade burger~!

And the paper wrapping the burger was foil, so it was very sturdy~~ Now let me try the customized Deom Burger~

Wow, first of all the bun is really good and the meat is thick~

On top of that, since I added tomato, the tomato cuts the greasiness and balances it out, so it got even tastier~ Tomato in a handmade burger is just what I love~~!

Bun, patty, sauce, veggies and bacon were all properly balanced, so it couldn't help but be delicious~

Honestly, just looking at this cross-section, you can't help but like it.

I thought about adding one more patty but didn't, and the Deom Burger patty is thick enough that it was already plenty good~

A burger with a kind of American West feel, and really delicious~~

This is exactly the feeling I come all the way to Hongik Univ. Station and Yeonnam-dong to eat handmade burgers for~~

Deombeogeo felt like the Subway of handmade burgers

Among the handmade burger places around Hongik Univ. Station and Yeonnam-dong, there are many with real individual character~

Deombeogeo was exactly that kind of place~~ And the downside of such places is that I wish they'd cater more to the eater's taste, but Deombeogeo lets you customize, which~~ is a big plus.

A burger with only onion and pickles tends to feel greasy to me, so adding tomato is my basic preference, and the fact that even a burger that originally has no tomato can be customized into one that fits my taste exactly~ felt like the Subway of handmade burgers. Being able to set it up Subway-style was just so good~

Honestly, even if it costs a bit more, getting to eat a burger I really like made for a very happy time.

Does the Deombeogeo whole-drumstick chicken go with ranch sauce?

The side whole-drumstick chicken at Deombeogeo Bonjeom comes with ranch sauce, and dipping it took the greasy edge off. Drumstick chicken + ranch sauce~ so good~

It also made me think that buying KFC Hot Crispy drumsticks and dipping them in ranch sauce would be tasty too~

The ranch properly tamed the greasiness of the drumstick. A spicy drumstick with ranch~ it gave me a hint of the feeling of eating a Subway sandwich with Southwest chipotle sauce mixed with ranch~

So it was even tastier~~

A drumstick chicken that couldn't help but be delicious~
