What is Bored & Hungry Mapo?

Bored & Hungry Mapo is the Mapo branch of a handmade burger brand that started in Seongsu, and its windows look out onto Gyeongui Line Forest Park. The stylish vibe caught my eye the moment I walked in, and with the park scenery outside, I was in a good mood the whole meal.

I'd been curious about this brand since it began in Seongsu, so I was happy to see it in Mapo now. You don't have to go all the way to Seongsu to enjoy tasty handmade burgers in a hip setting!

Is Bored & Hungry Mapo busy at a late weekend lunch?

We visited at a late weekend lunchtime, and there were still quite a lot of customers.

It wasn't just young people; diners of all ages were eating there, so you could feel its popularity. If you're looking for a burger spot in Sinchon or a tasty lunch near Daeheung Station, keep this one in mind.

Stepping inside, it felt like being in a burger joint in the US.

The mood was a little different from an ordinary burger chain, with the brand's hip sensibility all over the space, so it was fun just to look around.

The interior is stylish but not overbearing, so it's comfortable to stay in, and it suits a meal with friends or a date.

Being able to look out at Gyeongui Line Forest Park put me in a great mood~ Eating good food while gazing at the green walking path made the meal feel more relaxed. On a nice day, I think just looking out the window would cheer you up.

If you're after a handmade burger place for a Sinchon date, you'll probably be happy that you get to enjoy the atmosphere of the space as well as the food.

What two of us ordered: Shrimp O.G set and O.G Champion Burger set

That day at Bored & Hungry Mapo we ordered the Shrimp O.G set and the O.G Champion Burger set.

The Shrimp O.G set comes with fries and a drink, and the O.G Champion Burger set comes with corn ribs and a drink, so picking different sets and sharing worked well. Ordering this way for two, we could eat our fill and felt satisfied.

How do the Shrimp O.G and O.G Champion Burger taste?

Trying two kinds of burgers was nice, and the sides were different too, so it was fun to pick and mix. The Shrimp O.G has shrimp in it, so it has a different charm from a regular patty burger, and the O.G Champion Burger stood out for the generous build typical of a handmade burger.

I liked how the fresh ingredients came together, and the harmony in each bite was satisfying. I think what matters in a burger is that the ingredients are fresh and balanced.

At Bored & Hungry Mapo, the flavor of each ingredient comes through nicely, so I enjoyed it a lot.

Are drinks and tableware self-serve at Bored & Hungry Mapo?

Bored & Hungry Mapo has a drink corner and a self-serve bar, so you fetch your own drinks and tableware. With fries and corn ribs too, the menu felt more filling, and being able to pour as much of a drink as you like was convenient.

The drink corner is self-serve, so just pick the drink you want and help yourself.

On one side of the shop, the self-serve bar had these things ready:

• Plates and small plates
• Knife and fork
• Gloves
• Wet wipes and tissues
• Ketchup and more

If you need something mid-meal, you can grab it yourself without calling staff over again and again, which is handy.

Even small details are set up for convenience, so it seemed low-stress even for a group. The staff were also friendly, so we had a pleasant meal.

Is Bored & Hungry Mapo good for a Sinchon date?

At Bored & Hungry Mapo you can go straight from burgers to a walk in Gyeongui Line Forest Park, which makes it easy to plan a date. I understand why it was busy at a late weekend lunch~ it has lots of charms: tasty burgers, a stylish interior, convenient self-service and the atmosphere of looking out over the park. If you want to find one of Korea's best burger places or you're curious about trendy burger brands, it's worth a look.

I hear Bored & Hungry is also known as the burger Snoop Dogg fell for, so handmade burger fans will probably be even more curious. The shop looks great, so it's good for food photos, and it suits a relaxed meal chatting with friends. After eating, walking along Gyeongui Line Forest Park was nice too.

You can eat good food and then head straight to a café or a walk, so it's convenient for a date itinerary. Being able to enjoy both a meal and a stroll without traveling far was a pretty big plus. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a burger place near Daeheung Station or a different spot to eat near Sinchon.

You can enjoy the vibe of a brand that started in Seongsu right in Mapo, so you don't need to go all the way to Seongsu anymore, haha. Visit when you want tasty handmade burgers in a hip setting, or when you want to enjoy the Gyeongui Line Forest Park scenery too.

I was so satisfied that I'd like to go back and try other menu items next time.
