Pangyo brunch spot before a Baekhyeon-dong Café Street stroll: Andover

I went to Baekhyeon-dong Café Street for a weekend outing and ended up at Andover, a pasta restaurant in Pangyo. The food was great and the atmosphere was relaxed, so it's a lovely place for brunch before a stroll along the café street. Baekhyeon-dong Café Street in Pangyo: a weekend day trip from Seoul?

If you come to Pangyo, I recommend walking around Baekhyeon-dong Café Street too. It's Pangyo's signature street, lined with stylish cafés and restaurants, and it's popular as a weekend day-trip course from Seoul because brunch and a leisurely walk go so well together.

Andover location, hours and parking

Andover is about a 15-minute walk from The Hyundai Seoul's neighbor, Hyundai Department Store Pangyo, or 5 minutes by car, so it's easy to combine with shopping or a café street walk. The Baekhyeon-dong Café Street public car park gives 1 hour of free parking, which made driving convenient too.

Andover also has outdoor terrace seating, which looked like a lovely way to enjoy brunch surrounded by fresh greenery on a nice day.

Andover's atmosphere and seating

Floor-to-ceiling front windows let in the summer greenery, and the interior is modern and stylish. There are tables for 2, tables for 4 and group seating, so it suits dates as well as family meals.

Since it was the weekend, I'd booked ahead, and our reserved seat was set up with pretty fresh flowers. That little touch felt so Andover and put me in a good mood from the start :)

Andover menu and how to order

You order through the QR code attached to each table, so it's easy to do from your seat.

Besides salads, pasta and risotto, there's a varied brunch menu with Andover's own touches, like Andover-style lasagna and jambon pie. We ordered the Andover-style lasagna (320g), jambon pie and clam risotto, plus a Galvanina Italian organic soda (blood orange) to drink.

There's a self-service bar near the entrance with water, tissues, wet wipes, cutlery and more, which was handy.

What did we eat for weekend brunch at Andover, and how was it?

Galvanina Italian organic soda (blood orange)

The Galvanina blood orange soda had a rich orange flavor, sweetness that wasn't overdone and just the right amount of fizz, so it went nicely with the brunch dishes.

Clam risotto

Andover's clam risotto is topped with grilled clams and cherry tomatoes on Andover's bisque sauce, bringing out that deep seafood flavor. A slight kick of spiciness came through alongside the rich savory depth, and I was really happy with every bite.

The rich flavor made it a filling meal, and it suited my taste so well that I'd recommend it to anyone who loves seafood.

Andover jambon pie

Andover's jambon pie is a soft handmade pie, baked in layers and filled with cheddar cheese, Andover cream sauce and house-made jambon (Korean-style ham). It was packed with jambon, and the combination with the nutty cheese worked so well that it was a really satisfying brunch dish.

Andover-style lasagna (320g)

The Andover-style lasagna layers meaty house-made ragu, cheese and béchamel cream. The texture was tender, and the rich ragu and cheese gave it real depth. The more I ate, the more I kept reaching for another bite.
