Large café in Sutonggol, Daejeon: mild Jeju matcha latte at Luonto
In short
Luonto Sutonggol Branch is a three-floor large café near the entrance to Sutonggol in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, with an outdoor dome and different seating on every floor. After a stop at Sutonggol, the writer tried plain chimney bread, a real strawberry latte, a Jeju matcha latte that is less bitter than most, and an iced Americano made with the nutty bean option. At Luonto Sutonggol Branch, the chimney bread, crisp outside and chewy inside and served with whipped cream, was the biggest highlight.

I stopped by Sutonggol in Daejeon and was looking for a big café when I found Luonto Sutonggol Branch! Being a large café, it had plenty of indoor space, plus an outdoor dome-shaped area that made the vibe really nice. The chimney bread here was genuinely delicious — one of the most satisfying I've had at a café. Let me walk you through the food and the space~
Where is Luonto Sutonggol Branch, and is there parking?
Luonto Sutonggol Branch is right past the Sutonggol trailhead entrance, down the alley where Maha Café and the stone-oven pizza place are — just a short walk. There's parking both indoors and outdoors, so parking space was pretty generous.

Even if the Sutonggol public parking lot is full, you can just use Luonto's own lot, which was really convenient.
Outdoor dome and the atmosphere on each floor at Luonto Sutonggol
Luonto Sutonggol Branch spans from the 1st to the 3rd floor, and it's a large Daejeon café with outdoor spaces on both the 1st floor and the 3rd floor. I started by looking around the outdoor area — it was decorated so nicely that it was great for photos too.

I heard you can even hold events here, like weddings or first birthday parties! It seemed like a good space for holding an event outdoors.

On a nice day, it looked like a great spot to relax outdoors. The weather's been getting cooler lately, so sitting outside was just about perfect.

Seating on the 1st and 2nd floors
The 1st floor of Luonto Sutonggol Branch also had quite a few tables set up,

and the 2nd floor is an even more spacious area. With floor-to-ceiling windows, it looked extra open, and it was nicely decorated throughout. There are separate men's and women's restrooms on the 2nd floor.

You could also order drinks on the 2nd floor. There's a water station and a baby chair near the stairs!

The 3rd floor and its outdoor space
Luonto Sutonggol Branch even goes up to a 3rd floor, and it's a large Daejeon café — the 3rd floor looked like it would be great for a group visit.

Open the door on the 3rd floor and there's yet another outdoor space. True to a large Daejeon café, there were all kinds of seating areas set up. Each spot had a slightly different atmosphere, so it was great for photos too~

How is the plain chimney bread at Luonto?
Luonto Sutonggol Branch sells chimney bread in two flavors, plain and cinnamon, and I ordered the plain one. Whipped cream comes standard, and you can add extra cream for +₩1,000!

It also comes with disposable plastic gloves so it's easier to eat~

The plain chimney bread has a crispy, crackly outside and a chewy, savory inside. It has a subtle sweetness, so dipping it in whipped cream made it soft and sweet — the combination was really good together~ Even with a generous dip of cream, the plain, savory taste of the bread itself still came through, so it never felt overly sweet, which I liked.
How sweet is the real strawberry latte?
The real strawberry latte at Luonto Sutonggol Branch tastes more like sweet strawberry milk than tangy strawberry. You need to stir it well before drinking so the strawberry syrup settled at the bottom mixes in properly~

There are actual strawberry chunks in it, so you get little bits of strawberry with every sip, and it tastes sweet and smooth, like strawberry milk! It leans more sweet than tangy, so it was an easy, sweet drink to enjoy.
Is Luonto's Jeju matcha latte very bitter?
The Jeju matcha latte at Luonto Sutonggol Branch doesn't have that typically strong matcha bitterness, so it was easy to drink without feeling overwhelmed. Rather than a deep, bitter matcha taste, there's a gentle sweetness that comes through well — personally, I really liked it!

Can you choose the beans for your iced Americano?
At Luonto Sutonggol Branch, you can choose your coffee beans when ordering — nutty, acidic, or decaf. I like nutty coffee without acidity, so I ordered the iced Americano with the nutty beans.

It went really well together with the chimney bread~ For a clean, easy drink, an iced Americano is the best ^^
Who is Luonto Sutonggol Branch best for?
If you're looking for a large café near Sutonggol in Daejeon, I'd recommend Luonto Sutonggol Branch! The indoor space is spacious and there's a variety of outdoor spots too, so it's great for enjoying the outdoors on a nice day. The chimney bread in particular was delicious — crispy outside, chewy inside, and even better with whipped cream. If you're looking for a large café in Daejeon and want to try chimney bread too, it's well worth a visit to Luonto Sutonggol Branch~
