I spent some time at Bueokgan Sangmu Branch, a brunch spot in Sangmu district with great atmosphere, after a while! I went because I wanted to enjoy a relaxed lunch, and it turned out to be a place full of photo spots ~ There are so many restaurants in this area, but this one's known for its great vibe, so I'd recommend it as a date spot too +_+

A little away from the busy Sangmu district strip
Bueokgan Sangmu Main Branch is located a bit away from the busy main strip of Sangmu district! Honestly, that's even better ~ so it's a great place to enjoy a relaxed meal without the crowded atmosphere.

Where do you park?
If you're driving, you can use the dedicated parking lot behind the building. Look carefully for the sign on the road, like in the photo above, and you can park right away. Also, past Bueokgan Sangmu Branch, you can use the Mudeung Church parking lot too, so don't worry ~.~

A space inspired by the Titanic's ballroom
Bueokgan Sangmu Branch definitely feels different from the usual pasta-place vibe you'd expect in Sangmu district! Since it's designed around an Italian vintage classic hotel motif, the interior feels completely different.

When you actually step inside, it feels much more like a European hotel than a restaurant? They said the space was designed with inspiration from the ballroom that appears in Titanic!

Vintage furniture and props are placed all over, so it's fun to just look around the space before ordering. It's not just a place that photographs well — the table spacing and seating were genuinely comfortable, so I could enjoy the atmosphere without any stress. From the chandelier in the center to the tables and chairs, every detail of the space felt carefully thought out.

Ordering the weekday lunch couple set
I visited on a weekday lunch and ordered the couple set! Visiting during lunch hours, being able to go with the couple set instead of à la carte items was nice. If you like pasta or risotto, this is a pretty good, relaxed brunch spot in Sangmu district, right?

Bueokgan's signature menu includes pastry soup, basil pesto cream pasta, lasagna, jambon pizza, and other varied dishes. There's such a wide range that it seems like a good spot to order a bunch and share while taking photos on a date or with friends in a pretty setting!

Classic carbonara
I ordered the classic carbonara, which you can't skip at a restaurant with such great atmosphere!! Highly recommended if you like cream pasta ~.~ The creamy sauce was so good that I dipped my pizza in it, hehe.

A balanced spread with pizza too
Besides pasta, you could also order lasagna, chicken pilaf, and even pizza. I made sure to also try the pizza, since you can't skip it! I liked that the menu didn't feel lopsided toward one thing — the couple set felt like a nicely balanced (?) lineup.

Why lunch still felt relaxed
The food came out pretty quickly after ordering. Personally, even though it was lunchtime, they seated us at a nice table and let us enjoy the meal at a relaxed pace, which I appreciated! Since it's away from the main busy strip of Sangmu district, it felt satisfying without any of the crowded feeling. No rushing to eat and dash out — you can take your time with the meal, enjoy the conversation ~ a great space to spend time on a date!

Who is this place good for?
Bueokgan Sangmu Branch has an atmosphere that's neither too heavy nor too light — just right for enjoying brunch — so it would work well not just for dates but also family dinners, meals with friends, group gatherings, or occasions like a wedding invitation meetup where you want a bit of atmosphere! The space itself is beautifully decorated, so it's fun to take photos not just of the food but all around the restaurant. Highly recommend it if you're someone who loves places where photos turn out pretty ~.~
