Haeundae Chinese restaurant, rainy date-night beef jjamppong: Bueokgan
In short
Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch (부엌간 차이니즈 해운대점) is a European-style Chinese restaurant on Dalmaji-gil in Haeundae, Busan. On a heavily rainy evening date, the writer ordered poached-egg pork belly ganjjajang (dry-fried black bean noodles), beef jjamppong (spicy noodle soup) and black vinegar sirloin tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork). The food came out quickly under soft lighting and tasted satisfying. Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch is worth recommending as a Dalmaji-gil date restaurant with reasonable prices and real atmosphere.

What kind of place is Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch?
Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch (부엌간 차이니즈 해운대점) is a European-style Chinese restaurant on Dalmaji-gil in Haeundae. It's a perfect date spot on Dalmaji-gil, and even though it's a Chinese restaurant, the mood is so good that you'd guess they sell pasta and steak. From the food to the service, I was really happy with it.

Parking and building layout at Bueokgan Chinese
The whole building is Bueokgan, so it's easy to find, and it even has a parking lot!

We went for dinner, and it was pouring that day, so I was desperate for a hot bowl of jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup)!

There's a basement parking lot, and the 1st floor houses Café de Bueokgan and the Bueokgan Chinese restaurant together. The 2nd floor is a European restaurant, so you can pick a floor depending on what you feel like eating!

How is the atmosphere for a Dalmaji-gil date?
Every corner of Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch has a great mood! The lighting is a bit dim, but you know how that kind of lighting actually makes everything look prettier, right? It makes dates look lovelier too, so it's a true date-night spot haha.
Menu and prices at Bueokgan Chinese

With this mood, isn't it going to be pricey? Not at all. Bueokgan Chinese is a Haeundae Chinese restaurant where you can enjoy the atmosphere at reasonable prices. We ordered the best-sellers (recommended dishes): poached-egg pork belly ganjjajang (noodles in dry-fried black bean sauce), beef jjamppong and black vinegar sirloin tangsuyuk (Chinese-style sweet and sour pork).
- Poached-egg pork belly ganjjajang
- Beef jjamppong
- Black vinegar sirloin tangsuyuk

They bring zha cai and danmuji (yellow pickled radish) by default, and the water is toasty barley tea, which made this Haeundae Chinese restaurant even more satisfying! I think it would be great to come with your parents too.

The poached-egg ganjjajang and beef jjamppong came out first, and they pass on looks alone. I wanted to take a bite before the tangsuyuk arrived, but the black vinegar sirloin tangsuyuk came right away too! The food comes out fast, which earns even more points 💕

Wow, the spread is just insane. I posted it on my Instagram story and my DMs exploded with people asking where this was. The taste is as great as the looks.
What does the poached-egg pork belly ganjjajang taste like?

Bueokgan Chinese's poached-egg ganjjajang is even better when you burst the yolk and coat the noodles with it. Maybe because it's stir-fried quickly, the wok flavor is amazing too!

It felt like they didn't skimp on the five-layer pork belly, and it's the kind of jjajangmyeon kids would go crazy for. The crunchy onions are great, and since it's five-layer pork belly rather than regular samgyeopsal, you get a nice meaty texture too! And of course pickled radish goes perfectly with jjajang. The lighting made the photo colors look pale, but it was a really, truly delicious ganjjajang.
How is the beef jjamppong on a rainy day?

The beef jjamppong was my pick, since I wanted a spicy, tangy broth! It was just the right Haeundae Chinese restaurant dish for a rainy day.

If seafood jjamppong is cool and spicy, the beef jjamppong has the deep, rich flavor of meat plus a spicy broth, so I enjoyed it even more! The noodles are slightly thick and there's plenty of beef, so it's great as hangover food too! When the broth is good, Koreans instantly think of rice, and that's an unwritten rule, and Bueokgan Chinese's jjamppong broth is exactly the kind that makes you think of rice 💕
How many people does the small black vinegar sirloin tangsuyuk feed?

The black vinegar sirloin tangsuyuk uses Bueokgan Chinese's own special black vinegar sauce. Even the small size was generous, a good amount for 2 to 3 people. It's glutinous-rice-batter tangsuyuk, so it's chewy yet crunchy, a taste nobody would dislike! The meat is thick with a great texture, and it was even better with the onions.
Final verdict on Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch
Overall, I was happy with the food and the atmosphere at Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch, a great Dalmaji-gil restaurant. If you're craving Chinese food, head to Bueokgan Chinese on the 1st floor, and if you want Western food, try Bueokgan on the 2nd floor!
