New Milyang pork BBQ restaurant: Dotdot Special, scallion kimchi ramen
In short
Dotdot Milyang Main Branch is a newly opened pork BBQ restaurant near the children's park in Sinsamun-dong, Milyang. On a first visit, the writer ordered the Dotdot Special (48,000 won), with fresh ogyeopsal (skin-on pork belly), kkodeulsal, galmaegisal (pork skirt) and hangjeongsal (pork jowl), plus scallion kimchi ramen (7,000 won), alongside generous sides like Jeju-style meljorim (braised salted anchovies) and whole garlic gambas. Dotdot Milyang Main Branch already draws a wait despite being newly open, and the quality of the pork shows why.

Samgyeopsal (pork belly) is still Koreans' undisputed number one eating-out menu! I heard a new pork BBQ spot had opened in Samun-dong, Milyang, so I went to Dotdot Milyang Main Branch (돗돗 밀양본점). Let me tell you all about it.

Dotdot Milyang Main Branch is at 10 Miribeoljungang-ro 5-gil, 1st floor, units 16 and 17, Milyang-si, Gyeongnam. It is open from 16:00 to 24:00 (last order 23:30).
Where is Dotdot Milyang Main Branch?

Dotdot Milyang Main Branch is in Sinsamun-dong, Milyang. It's just a 1-minute walk from the kids' park, so it's easy to get to. Goood!
Is the inside clean?

Cleanliness really stands out here! At older pork BBQ places the floor can feel sticky the moment you walk in, but Dotdot, as a newly opened grill house, was spotless. The interior is also more trendy than I expected, so it looks fine for a family meal or even a date.
What did we order?
I ordered the Dotdot Special (₩48,000), which lets you try several cuts at once, and the scallion kimchi ramen (₩7,000).
Dotdot Milyang Main Branch's basic side dishes

The basic sides include olive kimchi, shredded cabbage salad, barley ssamjang (dipping paste) and nurungji (scorched rice) salt. A staff member set them on the table a little later. They say these sides, which you won't find elsewhere, make the pork even more enjoyable. If you run short, you can refill as much as you like at the self-service bar, so keep that in mind.
Which cuts come in the Dotdot Special?

Today's star: the Dotdot Special! It lets you enjoy several cuts of pork at once.
- Thick, juicy fresh ogyeopsal (pork belly with skin)
- Kkodeulsal, chewy and nutty the more you chew
- Galmaegisal (pork skirt), wonderfully tender
- Hangjeongsal (pork neck), rich and savory

The meat quality looks good, right? Even at a glance, the pork looked fresh. My mouth was watering, so I put it on the grill right away. Galmaegisal and kkodeulsal went on first, sizzle sizzle!
Jeju-style myeoljorim and whole garlic gambas
Jeju-style myeoljorim (braised whole anchovies) comes on the grill too. Its deep savory flavor goes perfectly with fatty pork. Dip the meat in it, or eat it with the braised tofu for a real treat. Whole garlic gambas, made with fragrant sesame oil, whole garlic and salted shrimp, came as well. Unlike other places, Dotdot has plenty of sauces to go with the meat, and I really liked that.

Isn't kkodeulsal tough?
Dotdot's kkodeulsal isn't tough, just pleasantly textured. As the name suggests, the chewy bite hits your mouth first. Some of you may worry it's too chewy, but it wasn't that at all!

It isn't dry either, and has a nice bit of chew, so it was personally one of my favorite cuts.

It's good on its own, and wrapped in a perilla leaf it's goood too.

Finishing with fresh ogyeopsal
After all, ogyeopsal is the way to finish, isn't it? Dotdot's ogyeopsal is slightly thicker than regular samgyeopsal. The skin is thin, so it's chewy, while the lean part feels tender!

Juice burst in my mouth with every bite, and I thought, a famous place really is different.
What does the scallion kimchi ramen taste like?

Dotdot's scallion kimchi ramen (₩7,000) is spicy yet refreshing. I ordered it as a side because the noodles looked different from regular ramen noodles. It's fairly salty, so people who like bold, salty flavors will probably prefer it. I finished the meal with this spicy, tangy, salty ramen.
Is Dotdot Milyang Main Branch worth visiting?
This was my first visit to Dotdot Milyang Main Branch! It's a new spot that has only just opened and there's already a wait, so the meat speaks for itself, right? If you want good pork BBQ in Milyang, it's worth a visit.
