I got a scalp scaling and a long-layer trim from manager Minjeong at One & Only Hair in Gwacheon! My frizzy, damaged hair got completely tidied up and my scalp felt so clean after the scaling — total mood reset!! I wanted to keep my length as much as possible while just cleaning up the damaged parts, and it came out exactly the way I wanted haha. It's right in front of Gwacheon Government Complex Station and a bus stop, so public transit access was great too!

• 🚗 Parking: The lot in front of the building is a public Gwacheon-si lot with no parking support → go around to the back of the building and use the basement 2–3 parking lot

The salon was really spacious! Since it's a new building and a new shop, the vibe is super clean and pleasant.

Hair condition before the cut and the style I asked for

This is my hair before the scalp scaling and cut. It's so, so damaged and super frizzy, sigh. I decided to keep the length as is and get layers and texturizing to get rid of all the damaged hair!

What happens during the scalp scaling at One & Only Hair

At One & Only Hair Gwacheon Government Complex Station, they did the scalp scaling before the cut. Minjeong, the director, told me there was some heat and redness in certain areas of my scalp. She very carefully applied a product to help with the scalp scaling!

After the product went on, it was time for the steam! There was a bit of a cooling feeling too, and it felt really nice haha.

They gave me a cold drink too, so I sipped that and passed the time.

After that I moved to the shampoo room! You lie back on a bed with vibrating massage and get a comfortable cleanse — the shampoo itself was so thorough too, it was such a healing time...!

Side-focused layered cut that keeps the full length

After the shampoo, she applied Aujua hair care products one after another

Then on to the cut, snip snip. I wanted to keep growing my hair but cut away the damaged parts, so I asked her to just barely trim the ends and focus the cutting mainly on the sides. She kept checking in with me and looked things over so carefully! Doesn't my hair kind of look like stretchy mozzarella cheese here haha (lol)

Cutting away so much of the damaged hair definitely left mostly healthy hair behind, which made it look way neater! She also finished it off with a pretty C-curl blow-dry.

The shop being in a new building made everything feel especially clean and pleasant overall, and from the scalp scaling to the shampoo, cut, and blow-dry, every single step got such careful attention that I could just relax and let them take care of everything. It's a salon I'd want to come back to whenever I want a clean trim and a mood reset. Total proper healing time...!!!
