Rainy-day Songdo salt bread café: ₩3,800 iced Americano, Cozy Bear
In short
Cafe Cozy Bear Salt Bread Bakery (Songdo Hagwonga Branch) is a salt bread bakery café in front of The Sharp Harbor View Complex 13 in Songdo, Yeonsu, Incheon. On a day of heavy rain, the writer stopped by Cozy Bear after lunch for a castella salt bread (₩5,000), a plain salt bread (₩3,500) and two iced Americanos (₩3,800 each); the fresh-bake time was missed, but the cream and butter aroma made the visit satisfying. Verdict: with low prices and good quality, Cozy Bear is a salt bread café worth revisiting on every trip to Songdo.

Today we had a tasty lunch in Incheon and planned to go for dessert and coffee afterwards. Songdo was close to where we ate, so I searched for cafés in Songdo, Incheon and found Cozy Bear (코지베어). The reviews were good and the menu looked like great value, so we went in with high hopes, haha!

How to get to Cozy Bear and parking

This salt bread spot in Yeonsu is right in front of The Sharp Harbor View Complex 13 in Songdo, about a 10-minute drive from Senteureolpakeu Station on Incheon Line 1! Many people come by car, so parking is provided: park in the basement of the building and they give you 1 hour of free parking.
Cozy Bear exterior and seating

Cozy Bear is a Songdo café with clean glass-wall windows and a cute font that stands out.

The exterior and interior feel like you've traveled abroad, haha. There are terrace seats too, so it's even better to visit when the weather is nice like these days!

Because Cozy Bear is a bakery café, about half of the shop was the counter and the bread-making area, and the other half was set up with tables for 4 and for 2, haha.

Many people were getting takeout, and with such a cute packing box, I thought it would make a nice gift too!
Cozy Bear menu and what we ordered

- Iced Americano ₩3,800 x 2
- Plain salt bread ₩3,500
- Castella salt bread ₩5,000
Since we had already eaten a meal, we ordered one plain salt bread, one castella salt bread and two iced Americanos.
What time does Cozy Bear's salt bread come out?

At Cozy Bear you can get freshly baked bread at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. We didn't know that and arrived a little after 1 p.m., so we could only smell the fresh-baked bread, haha. Still, the breads already made were so delicious that we were satisfied.

How does the castella salt bread taste?
The first thing we tried was the castella salt bread (₩5,000).

I've eaten plenty of crispy salt breads like the garlic kind, but never a castella salt bread, so I was excited. As you can tell from the look of it, it's packed with a smooth, rich-tasting cream and was really delicious. It also has a salty note that doesn't spoil the original salt bread flavor, so people who like the classic should be able to enjoy it comfortably too.

How does the plain salt bread taste?
Next was the plain salt bread (₩3,500), haha. The inside was full of bread, and perhaps because they use French fermented butter, a deep butter aroma rose up right away!

The crispy texture is a given, and maybe because the dough is also made with French flour, it has a taste that feels somehow different from other famous salt bread places, if that makes sense? It was so good I wanted to take some home to share with people around me.
Cozy Bear iced Americano for ₩3,800: how does it taste?

Two iced Americanos to go with the salt bread. They say the beans are roasted together with a national-team barista, and at only ₩3,800 I thought the value was amazing!

The Cozy Bear Americano has a nutty base with just a very slight acidity, so it was good with dessert. The beans seem good, so next visit I plan to try a hot Americano or a latte.
Verdict: a Songdo salt bread café I didn't regret leaving the house for, even in a downpour
I found this new Songdo café, Cozy Bear, while looking for a place to go after a meal in Incheon, haha. It was pouring, so on the way back I could easily have wondered why I came out today, but Cozy Bear's salt bread was so good that I had no regrets.
The staff were very kind, and the salt bread and drinks are cheap yet high quality, so I think I'll visit every time I come to Songdo? If you're looking for a bakery café in Songdo, Incheon, or a great salt bread spot in Yeonsu, Cozy Bear is worth a visit.
