Hapjeong Thai restaurant: filling Set A for two, Saeng Augustine
In short
Saeng Augustine Hapjeong Branch is a Thai restaurant on basement level 1 of Mecenatpolis by Hapjeong Station in Mapo, Seoul. Two people shared Set A (2 pieces of tod man kung, poo pad pong curry, rice and king prawn pad thai); the poo pad pong curry was the clear favourite, and even as a two-person set it left both diners full. Dining at Saeng Augustine Hapjeong Branch gets you 3 hours 30 minutes of free Mecenatpolis parking, and the mall connects directly to Hapjeong Station Exit 9, making it an easy meetup spot by car or subway.

Today I'm sharing the Hapjeong restaurant I think of first whenever I'm craving exotic Thai food. It's easy to reach, the atmosphere is clean and tidy, and it's a place I often pick for get-togethers: Saeng Augustine (생어거스틴) Hapjeong Branch at Mesa Polis by Hapjeong Station! I've packed in the menu info and parking tips you should know before you go.
Is parking free at Saeng Augustine Hapjeong Branch?
Yes. Dine at Saeng Augustine Hapjeong Branch and you get 3 hours 30 minutes of free parking in the Mesa Polis underground car park. When you pay after your meal, tell them your license plate number and they'll register the free parking for you.
First, the most important info for anyone coming by car. The restaurant is inside the Mesa Polis mall, so parking is really convenient.

How to get to Saeng Augustine Hapjeong Branch from Hapjeong Station
Hapjeong Station Exit 9 connects directly to Mesa Polis, so the restaurant is easy to reach by subway too.

If you take the subway, Hapjeong Station Exit 9 leads straight into Mesa Polis, so it's very easy to find on foot. I walked there, and being connected right to the station made getting there really comfortable.
Atmosphere and how to order at Saeng Augustine Hapjeong Branch
The interior is clean and exotic, the tables are spaced widely, and you order at a kiosk. They also have alcohol, including beer.

The moment you walk in, the clean, exotic interior catches your eye, and the tables are far enough apart that it's perfect for a date or a family meal too.

Ordering easily at a kiosk is another plus! The menu has so many Asian dishes that I spent a long time deciding what to pick. Plus, they have all kinds of drinks, starting with beer.

What to order for two at Saeng Augustine Hapjeong Branch: Set A
If there are two of you, I recommend Set A at Saeng Augustine Hapjeong Branch. You get 2 tod man kung, poo pad pong curry, rice and king prawn pad thai all in one.
For anyone who can't decide, if you're two people like me, Set A is the combination I'd recommend as the fullest one that nobody will have a complaint about. It lets you try Saeng Augustine's signature tod man kung (2 pieces), poo pad pong curry, rice, and king prawn pad thai in one go.
Tod man kung: freshly fried Thai shrimp croquettes
The first dish out was the tod man kung (Thai-style shrimp croquette), thick patties of minced shrimp, deep-fried.

They come out freshly fried, so they're really crispy, and one bite releases a burst of soft, juicy shrimp! They're a generous size too, so they make a great starter.

Poo pad pong curry: the day's number one
The main dish of Set A, poo pad pong curry, is crispy fried soft-shell crab stir-fried with a rich yellow curry. You eat the crab shell and all, yet it isn't hard at all, just soft and melting in your mouth.
Mix the curry sauce into the white rice that comes with it, and finishing a whole bowl is only a matter of time!

It was easily number one on the Saeng Augustine Hapjeong menu. Apparently my companion didn't say a word and just kept eating... and afterward told me it was incredibly good.
King prawn pad thai: a whole king prawn on top
Last, the king prawn pad thai, the classic Thai stir-fried noodle, is seriously addictive, with crunchy bean sprouts and a sweet-salty sauce soaked into the noodles. A big king prawn sits on top whole, so I was thoroughly happy with both the looks and the taste.

Is Set A at Saeng Augustine Hapjeong Branch enough food?
Even though Set A is a two-person set, there was plenty of food and the lineup was great, so we left really full.

The 3- and 4-person sets on the menu also come in a variety, including tom yum goong, chili sea bass and rice noodles, so next time I visit with my family I plan to order from those.
If you're looking for a Mesa Polis restaurant by Hapjeong Station, I recommend Saeng Augustine Hapjeong Branch, with good food, good atmosphere and convenient parking. If it's your first visit or you can't decide what to order, enjoy a hearty meal with a set menu that has plenty of food and a perfectly balanced lineup!
