MagSafe car phone mount for a GV70 steering wheel: 비티냐

After changing my phone case, I needed a car phone mount. That is how I came across the 비티냐 360-Degree Rotating MagSafe Car Phone Mount.

How I used it in a GV70

I attached the 비티냐 360-Degree Rotating MagSafe Mount to my Genesis GV70 and mainly use it for two purposes.

For navigation

The GV70's navigation is good too, but sometimes I use Naver Map because it reflects real-time traffic conditions better.

In familiar areas it does not matter, but in unfamiliar places, using both the car navigation and smartphone navigation together helps with safe driving. At least for me.

I can use it freely in either portrait or landscape. Naver Map gives voice directions, so I can keep track of speed adjustments and places to watch out for. Mounting it above the steering wheel means I do not have to shift my gaze much, which helps with safe driving.

As a mount for watching videos

A mount is really convenient when working on a smartphone. It is especially handy when watching content while parked or charging, because I can adjust the angle freely.

It is much more convenient than holding the phone when replying on KakaoTalk, checking email, or handling work messages. The fatigue in my wrists and shoulders definitely decreases.

Using it with a Daiso smartphone case

I tend to use my phone without a case. Maybe I did something wrong, but when I attached the magnetic ring to my bare smartphone for the 비티냐 360-Degree Rotating MagSafe Mount, it kept falling off.

Was it because I had not cleaned it properly? I wiped it several times and tried attaching it again, but it would not stay on my Galaxy S23, which is the model I use most, and kept falling off.

After thinking it over, I found a solution at a Daiso I happened to stop by. It costs only ₩3,000, but the clear case with an N52 neodymium magnet was a perfect match for the 비티냐 360-Degree Rotating MagSafe Mount.

Even without using the included magnetic ring for the 비티냐 360-Degree Rotating MagSafe, the N52 neodymium magnet snaps right onto the mount. Its design also goes so well with my white phone.
