Inside Ssosam 208: is it good for group dinners?

Ssosam 208's interior is spacious with a high ceiling, giving it a pleasant feel for a Baegot, Siheung restaurant! Lots of tables too, so it's popular both for casual meals and Baegot group dinners~ Arrived a bit early so there were plenty of empty tables, but by the time we left it was nearly full — living up to its name as a Baegot pork belly hotspot!

There's also a pre-grilling area, where they say top-grade Hanwoo pork is first seared over 500°C charcoal to lock in the juices, then grilled a second time at 208°C haha.

Clean disposable aprons hang on the wall, and there's space inside the chairs, good for storing belongings or clothes~ even bags for storing garments!

On the table are napkins, paper cups, and a bottle opener,

and a set of utensils in a drawer under the table~

They also serve warm rice noodle soup as a complimentary side, and the clean broth is appealing haha. Apparently you can get one refill!

Zero Sprite (₩2,500) — carbonation is a must with meat! Not many places have zero-sugar Sprite, so cider fans will be satisfied haha.

300g marbled pork belly and 200g ogyeopsal, grilled for you

With the set menu, the pork belly 300g came out along with ogyeopsal 200g~ the marbled pork belly is at the bottom, and the marbled ogyeopsal is in the middle!

It comes pre-seared, so you can eat it soon after, and the staff grilled it from start to finish, so it's very easy to eat comfortably~

Staff member grilling meat on the grill plate

There's a separate section for grilling kimchi and bean sprouts, topped with spicy powder — perfectly suited to Korean tastes and great alongside the meat haha.

They also grill asparagus and onion together~ the skilled staff member's grilling technique was a work of art haha.

Pork belly and ogyeopsal browning golden on the grill

The visual of it browning up golden... hard to resist if you go on a really empty stomach lol.

Once the meat is nicely browned, it's placed on the slightly raised section of the grill so it doesn't burn haha.

First charcoal-seared, then grilled a second time — the visual of the meat at this Baegot ogyeopsal spot is chewy with juices bursting out...

Thick-cut for a satisfying bite, and the juices burst out while staying soft and chewy in both the pork belly and ogyeopsal... paired with kimchi, bean sprouts, various vegetables, and the fun of dipping into several sauces haha.

Pot of samgyeop fondue kimchi jjim and a large squid-ink bread

Samgyeop fondue kimchi stew: how does the squid-ink bread dip taste?

After enjoying the grilled meat a good while, out came the pot and a huge squid-ink bread..! Domestic aged kimchi, slow-cooked for 20 minutes in a pressure cooker! The portion is genuinely generous lol. Loaded with meat too..!!!

Samgyeop fondue kimchi jjim loaded with pork

Pork kimchi jjim paired with bread is an unusual combo, but in the end — delicious!! lol

First, the kimchi jjim is made with well-fermented domestic aged kimchi, so the seasoning is delicious, the pork has no off-smell and is tender — eaten with rice, it's a total rice-thief~

Cheese-filled squid-ink bread dipped into the kimchi jjim

And inside the squid-ink bread is cheese — dipping it into the kimchi jjim turned out to pair surprisingly well! A real standout dish haha.

Is Ssosam 208 Siheung Baegot worth it?

With a spacious interior and high ceiling, there's no stuffy feeling, so it's a pleasant place to eat, and with plenty of tables it's great for both casual meals and group dinners in Baegot, Siheung~

Top-grade Hanwoo pork is charcoal pre-seared and then grilled a second time, so the juices stay locked in and the texture is properly chewy — a Baegot pork spot, and one where staff grill it for you from start to finish, so you can eat comfortably — a Baegot go-to!

Juicy, chewy pork belly and ogyeopsal are great, but the kimchi jjim eaten with fondue is also a standout dish haha. The staff were kind too, making for a pleasant meal — this Baegot meat spot, Ssosam 208 Siheung Baegot Branch, highly recommend!
