Marine City Chinese restaurant: dinner for two for ₩50,000, Bueokgan
In short
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is an ocean-view Chinese restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows in Marine City, Haeundae, Busan. At dinner, two people ordered beef brisket jjamppong rice (spicy seafood soup with rice, ₩12,000), a small black vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork, ₩28,000), a Cass beer and a Good Day soju for ₩50,000 in total, and even the small tangsuyuk was more than the two could finish. Verdict: Bueokgan Chinese is a clean, upscale Chinese restaurant, not a greasy neighborhood joint, and a good choice for taking parents out or a group gathering.

I went to Marine City in Haeundae, Busan, and had beef brisket jjamppong rice (spicy seafood noodle soup served over rice) and pork loin tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork). This is the story of Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch (부엌간 차이니즈 마린시티점), which was far more upscale than a typical Chinese restaurant.

I put some real effort into the thumbnail this time. Please give it lots of views, hahaha
Where is Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch, and where can you park?
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is at 51 Marine City 3-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan, on the 2nd floor of the Subyeon Choego Dwaeji Gukbap building. It is open 11:00-22:00, with a break from 15:30 to 17:00.
It is about a 15-minute walk from Exit 1 of Dongbaek Station, and you get 1 hour 30 minutes of free parking at Adelis. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor, so up we go.
Does Bueokgan Chinese in Marine City have a sea view?
Yes! Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is a Chinese restaurant with wide-open floor-to-ceiling windows looking out at the Haeundae sea. The interior made me go, "Huh? Is this really a Chinese restaurant?" It is that stylish, and the big windows hand you the whole Haeundae ocean.

The mix of lighting and red chairs looks great, but you absolutely have to grab a window seat. Through the glass you can take in Haeundae and a sky to match, all in one glance.
Does Bueokgan Chinese have space for groups and big families?
Coming with a group? A big extended family? Don't worry. Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch also has private spaces with roomy seating like this.

Eating Chinese food with a view like this feels almost too luxurious, doesn't it?
Bueokgan Chinese menu and what dinner for two cost

The menu is huge, and everything on it looked so good that I agonized over the choice again and again.

- Beef brisket jjamppong rice ₩12,000
- Black vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk (small) ₩28,000
- Cass beer and Good Day soju ₩5,000 each
- Total ₩50,000

The weather was cool, but the walk made me sweat, so first up: an ice-cold beer!! And since I'm in Busan, the soju has to be Good Day (좋은데이)!! I got the luck of meeting Yoon Ha on my Good Day bottle cap, haha. Oh, I looked it up, and it turns out you check whether your name is among 504 names. Same style as the Kancho snack event. My unusual name will never be there. (It would be creepier if it were, haha)
Beef brisket jjamppong rice: taste and portion (₩12,000)
The beef brisket jjamppong rice at Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is ₩12,000. It was dinnertime and noodles felt heavy, so I ordered the rice version. Even the regular size is a substantial portion.

The rice comes out fluffy and loose. And the jjamppong stained red looks so fierce, haha.

Starting with the solids: it is packed with smoky, fire-kissed beef brisket and vegetables like napa cabbage and onion, and the broth is the heavy-set, refreshing kind!! It is only the regular size, not the extra-large, yet it's a lot. I really should mix the rice in, haha. But I hereby appoint it a good friend for the Good Day soju.
Small black vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk: enough for two? (₩28,000)
The small black vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk at Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is ₩28,000, and it comes pour-on style, with the sauce already over the top. If you want the sauce on the side, ask when you order. But wait, this is the small?? Really?

No way two people can finish this, haha. I already thought the jjamppong was a lot even shared, and the portion here is just enormous.

It comes piled with raw onion, which was crunchy, not spicy, and great with the tangsuyuk.

The wafer-thin batter crackles and rustles on its own. The sauce is tangy from the black vinegar, with a rich, layered flavor. Personally I'm a regular tangsuyuk person rather than a glutinous-rice-batter one, so the texture and crispy coating satisfied me a lot.

Take a bite and you find a moderate amount of batter around pale, tender pork loin with no off smell, and it has a crisp bite.
