I've been obsessed with marinated crab lately and hunting down good spots for it~ Today my baby and husband and I visited Deodo Gejang in Marine City! They sell all kinds of marinated seafood so I ran right over.

After parking and taking the elevator up, I couldn't spot any sign for Deodo Gejang. If you drive, once you take the elevator up, Deodo Gejang is right there just outside the 1st-floor building.
A restaurant of about 200㎡, and they ask about the baby chair before you even do
The restaurant is around 200㎡ (60-pyeong) so it seems great for group dining too. Today the staff asked if Juwon needed a chair too, haha. Every single staff member kindly asked, so to live up to expectations I told myself I'd better get him seated quickly (?).
Ordering the mixed marinated seafood nutritious pot rice set
We ordered the mixed marinated seafood (모듬장) nutritious pot rice set. Apparently Deodo Gejang uses only hwangge (yellow crab) for everything?? You know hwangge is seriously delicious, right ㅠㅠㅠ
We were going for the marinated seafood so we didn't join the event separately — but I wish I'd tried the fried hwangge crab too 😟 sigh.
Can you see it? Hwangge + spicy marinated crab + octopus + shrimp + abalone + quail eggs. Just gorgeous 🦀 Tell me who took the better photo (I think it's me though). The basic side dishes came out great too, so my husband put away 3 bowls of rice again lol
Side dishes, fish, and bulgogi
Among the side dishes, the cucumber and macaroni salad were delicious. The macaroni salad was really chewy, and the cucumber was crisp and sweet.
The fish was also soy-based, sweet and tasty.
The bulgogi was sweet and delicious too, so it seems like kids would eat it right up if you came with them. Juwon, hurry up and grow so we can go eat good food together, Mom and you.
Pot rice and scorched rice water
Here the rice comes in a pot, so they scoop it out separately for you and make scorched rice water (nurungji) for you too 👍🏻 You know how good that is after finishing your rice, right~
Jeju hwangge soy-marinated crab, rice mixed into the innards
They said the hwangge isn't frozen at all — only fresh-caught (seondong) crab straight from Jeju. I heard they even do courier delivery, and once you taste it you understand why people seek it out.

See that glossy, rich crab innard? Whew... this is what I came for. Mix that into your rice.
No bitterness at all?! The rice just slides right down.
Chili-based spicy marinated crab
Honestly, I never expected the spicy marinated crab to be this good too? I figured the soy-marinated version was the main event... but since it's chili-powder-based rather than the usual gochujang-based sauce, the flavor came through even more clearly.
My husband had peeled the shrimp and laid them out for me, and I was a little touched 🥺 — but when I asked, apparently they come already peeled. What a thoughtful touch from the owner.
Watching mom eat, he kept drooling and sucking on his fingers ㅠㅠㅠㅠ Sorry for eating all the good stuff without you, baby, ha.ha. I think later on, if Juwon takes after his dad and eats this much, we won't be able to keep up with the food budget.
Marinated abalone and octopus — the seafood platter is the real deal
This one's delicious too ~ but if you do the review event they give you 2 pieces, so definitely, definitely claim it. Please.
First time trying marinated octopus and, oh man~ this is totally my style 😳✨ Usually with mixed marinated seafood there's bound to be something people don't like, but here there wasn't a single ingredient like that ㅠ.ㅠ You have to get the marinated seafood platter here. It'd be such a waste to only eat the crab.
A man who added 2 extra bowls of rice after the pot rice. He definitely told me he was on a diet? And then apparently there's just too much delicious food in the world or something.
We finished the meal off with a warm bowl of scorched rice water after the pot rice. Honestly, it felt like we ate and left in just 30 minutes lol. They said takeout is available too, so I grabbed a business card just in case... A must-visit in Marine City, Haeundae! Another great meal with my husband and baby today 👍🏻
