Yongsan autumn terrace café: sweet potato latte at HYBE Playground
In short
HYBE Playground is a large café near Yongsan Station in Seoul, directly across from the HYBE headquarters, spread from a 1st-floor entrance up to a 4th-floor rooftop. On a return visit, the writer toured each floor's seating and enjoyed a sweet potato latte, a HIVE Americano and the Bamseukeu (밤스크, basque cake combined with chestnut cake) on the 3rd-floor terrace overlooking the HYBE building. Verdict: HYBE Playground is a big Yongsan Station café for unwinding with autumn chestnut and sweet potato desserts in the sun.

What is HYBE Playground like?
HYBE Playground is a large café near Yongsan Station, right across from the HYBE headquarters. I'd visited before on my own dime, and this time I finally came back for a revisit!

It's a big café spanning the 1st to 4th floors, so there's plenty of seating. It works for group gatherings, and since it's right by HYBE, for fan club meetups too. Naver reservations are available for groups of 4 or more, so if you're coming as a group, I'd recommend booking ahead ⬇️
HYBE Playground floor by floor

HYBE Playground is a big café near Yongsan Station: the entrance on the 1st floor, the order counter and seating on the 2nd, indoor and outdoor seats on the 3rd, and a rooftop on the 4th ☕
2nd floor: window bar seats and dim date-night seating

Head up to the 2nd floor and you'll find window-side bar seats for one person,

plus a mix of seats mostly for 2 and 4. The lighting is kept low, which gave the place even more atmosphere. It seems perfect for a date or a get-together with friends around Yongsan Station!
3rd floor: a free-spirited space with a big screen

The 3rd floor felt a bit more relaxed than the 2nd! Videos play on a large screen and the vibe is free and easy, which made me like it even more.

You can see the terrace seats on the opposite side, so the space felt brighter than the 2nd floor!
3rd-floor terrace: I♥HYBE mural and HYBE building view

My favorite spot at HYBE Playground: the 3rd-floor terrace!! The "I♥️HYBE" mural won me over right away ♥ The HYBE building is right in front, so fans of HYBE artists would love this café too, haha.

The awnings are big and well set up, so it's a great place to soak up a little sunshine and enjoy the autumn breeze.

That huge building towering in front of the café is the HYBE headquarters!
4th-floor rooftop: tiered bean bag seats and vacation-style seating

Take the stairs up from the 3rd-floor terrace and you'll reach the 4th-floor rooftop!

The rooftop has tiered seating with bean bag–style chairs, ideal if you want to lie back comfortably and enjoy your café time.

Besides the bean bags, there are outdoor seats with a vacation feel, so I felt the café is filled with seating to suit all kinds of visitors.
What's on the menu at HYBE Playground?

Besides coffee, the menu has seasonal drinks, non-coffee drinks, ice cream, premium tea, smoothies and fruit juice.

The cakes come in many kinds too, like chestnut cake, sweet potato and chocolate. The café rolls out different cakes each season, so I wanted to come back every season!

They also sell a variety of bingsu (shaved ice dessert), including Seongju melon (chamoe) bingsu, so it's a big Yongsan café with lots of choices.
How were the autumn Bamseu and the sweet potato latte?

At HYBE Playground I ordered a sweet potato latte, a HIVE Americano and the Bamseu 🌰 It's the season for root vegetables and nuts, so I went for drinks and desserts with sweet potato and chestnut. I also ordered the HIVE Americano, which has HYBE's name in it 😋

Bamseu ("bam" is chestnut, plus "basque") combines basque cheesecake and chestnut cake 🌰 Chestnut is my favorite of the autumn harvest foods, so this was absolutely my kind of cake.

Eating autumn sweet potato and chestnut desserts in the autumn sun with the HYBE building view was so healing 🍂 The staff were really kind and every floor seemed neatly kept, so I'd happily come back.

The HYBE building is just across the street from the café, so I went over and took photos in front of it, haha.
If you're looking for a spacious, atmospheric big café near Yongsan Station with a wide range of desserts and drinks, I recommend HYBE Playground 😊👍👍
