Charcoal-grilled beef ribs in Eunpyeong: Golmokjip Galbisal

Where is it near Yeonsinnae Station, and is parking available?

I went to Golmokjip Galbisal Yeonsinnae Main Branch (골목집갈비살 연신내본점) with my family for beef rib meat. It is on the Rodeo Street near Yeonsinnae Station, at 1F, 12-9 Yeonseo-ro 27-gil, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul.

There is no on-site parking, so if you bring a car, you need to use a nearby public parking lot. The hours listed when the original post was written were 4 PM to 11 PM daily.

How were the wait and seating for a family meal?

I visited late on a weekday evening and was seated without waiting. Naver reservations are also available, so I thought it would be better to reserve ahead during busy times.

It looked like a small restaurant from outside, but the dining hall was spacious once I went in. There was also plenty of space between tables, so we ate comfortably.

The interior had a retro atmosphere. My husband and I talked about old memories while looking at the posters and props around the restaurant.

What did two adults and one child order?

We ordered using the pad at the table. Two adults and one child ordered a 500g platter of beef rib meat and two bowls of rice.

The menu and prices at the time of my visit were as follows.

What side dishes come with the meat?

The basic side dishes included garlic, dried shredded radish, and kimchi.

Vegetables for ssam (wraps), pickled cucumber and onion, and pickled perilla leaves also came with the meal. The accompanying seasonings were ssamjang, wasabi, mustard, salt, and sesame sauce.

The barley tea came in a Del Monte orange bottle. It was cool and nice to drink with the meal.

How did the charcoal-grilled beef rib meat taste?

I was glad to see the charcoal brought out for grilling the meat. The 500g platter of beef rib meat we ordered was ₩65,900, and the meat came cut into thick pieces.

My husband grilled the meat and made sure I had my share first. The sizzling rib meat was juicy and pleasantly chewy when I dipped it lightly in salt.

I especially liked the pickled perilla leaves that came with the meal. Rolling the meat in them worked well with the rich beef rib meat.

How were the complimentary soybean-paste stew and family meal?

Soybean-paste stew came with the meat order. It contained beef brisket, which gave it a deep, rich flavor. My husband liked the stew and finished a whole bowl of rice.

We grilled and ate the remaining beef rib meat as well. Since the platter was in the ₩60,000 range, I felt the price was reasonable, and my whole family was satisfied with the meal. Next time, I would like to try other cuts too.
