Eunpyeong Seoul meat grill: beef ribs and pork belly at Golmokjip
In short
Golmokjip Galbisal Yeonsinnae Main Branch is a retro-style meat grill in Eunpyeong, Seoul, a four-minute walk from Yeonsinnae Station. I visited for a second round with my husband and ordered one serving each of marinated beef rib meat and pork belly; both had a pronounced charcoal aroma, and the complimentary doenjang-jjigae was generously filled.

At Golmokjip Galbisal Yeonsinnae Main Branch (골목집갈비살 연신내본점), which we stopped by for a second round, we could order both beef and pork. We chose one serving each of beef rib meat for my husband, who would eat most of it, and pork belly, which I prefer. Being able to have a little of both suited this visit well.

How long does it take from Yeonsinnae Station, and is parking available?
The restaurant is a four-minute walk from Exit 6 of Yeonsinnae Station. It is also close to Yeonsinnae Rodeo Street. The address is 12-9 Yeonseo-ro 27-gil, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, South Korea.

The hours listed in the original post are daily from 4 PM to 11 PM. Parking is not available.
What was the retro atmosphere like?
It was not just a few retro props—the whole restaurant had an old-fashioned feel. The interior was as memorable as the meat.

Before the food arrived, my husband and I talked while looking at the posters on the walls. They gave us something to talk about, so the wait did not feel dull.

Even the water bottle was a Del Monte bottle, which fit the restaurant's atmosphere well.

How much is the meat, and can you order one serving of each?
At the time of my visit, instant-marinated beef rib meat was ₩19,900 for 150 g, and premium pork belly was ₩13,900 for 170 g. Since I prefer pork, we ordered both types to suit our different tastes.

We were told that we could order one serving each of beef rib meat and pork belly. Since we had come for a second round and needed something to have with drinks, it felt less burdensome in both quantity and cost.
What were the side dishes and complimentary doenjang-jjigae like?
The basic side dishes were set out first, followed by complimentary doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew).

The doenjang-jjigae came in a large ttukbaegi (earthenware pot), with minced meat as well as tofu and vegetables. Even though it was complimentary, it had plenty of ingredients, so for people having drinks like us, it felt like having another soup dish to go with them.

What did the instant-marinated beef rib meat taste like?
The beef rib meat arrived already marinated. They prepared a perforated grill, and we put the meat on in small batches to cook it.

Each serving came with half a king oyster mushroom and a chili pepper. I cut up the mushroom, coated it in the beef rib marinade, and grilled it; it went well with the meat.

The beef rib meat was chewy and had a charcoal aroma from being grilled directly over charcoal. The sweet-savory marinade and garlic flavor worked well together.

I do not usually like the distinctive smell of beef, but I did not notice an unpleasant smell in the beef rib meat I had that day. The marinade also suited my taste, so even I, someone who prefers pork, enjoyed it.

How was the premium pork belly different from the beef rib meat?
We also ordered one serving of pork belly, which came with mushroom and chili pepper. It was cooked on a grill with a different shape from the one used for the beef rib meat.

I liked that the high heat cooked the pork belly quickly. We had stopped in for a second round and were waiting for something to eat with our drinks, so we could grill and eat it quickly.

The pork belly was savory, and its charcoal aroma was stronger than I expected from the shape of the grill. Both the beef rib meat and pork belly suited our tastes, and being able to order one serving of each worked well for my husband and me, who have different preferences, to have with drinks.
