Why I visited Stern Clinic for facial redness that got worse after giving birth

I went to Stern Clinic near Sunae Station in Bundang because of the redness on my forehead and T-zone. Maybe it's because the weather suddenly turned cold and dry, or because of the big temperature swings between morning and evening, but my skin got dry all over and my forehead and T-zone in particular started flushing red. My cheeks (the U-zone) are totally dry, while my T-zone gets a little oily and red. So I'm sensitive combination skin.

After some asking around, I visited Stern Clinic, which is well known in Bundang for facial redness and rosacea skin care.

Stern Clinic is an aesthetic clinic in Bundang specializing in problem skin, known for care of facial redness, rosacea and seborrheic dermatitis. The treatments use the clinic's own skincare line, which I heard is recommended by celebrities who've tried it themselves, so I was even more curious.

The head director studied in Germany and holds several skin-related certifications. For a clinic specializing in problem skin, seeing all these credentials made me trust it even more.

How do the camera skin diagnosis and director consultation work?

My first visit to Stern Clinic started with a camera check of my skin, followed by a consultation with the head director.

(The water I was given during the consultation, haha.) The camera diagnosis checked my skin closely, and the director kindly explained my current problems and the direction of my care from here.

Diagnosis: cheeks dry enough to crack, T-zone oily and red

As I said, the diagnosis showed that my U-zone, especially my cheeks, was extremely dry and cracking, while my T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) had a bit of sebum.

There was some redness on my forehead, especially between the brows, and you can see flushing in the butterfly zone beside my nose too. My redness was never this bad before, so it seems to have gotten worse after I gave birth. Hormones probably play a big part too ㅠㅠ..

A 2-hour facial in a private one-person room

The facial at Stern Clinic took about 2 hours in a private one-person care room. Having my own room meant I could relax without worrying about anyone else watching, which I liked.

I couldn't film the treatment itself, but my therapist handled my face with the gentlest, most comfortable touch in the world. She used the clinic's own low-irritation product line, so there was zero stinging or irritation. It felt like it was filling my skin with moisture and building a firm moisture barrier. Even when my Ttorong was a newborn, I don't think I ever applied cream that gently, and I felt weirdly guilty while getting pampered, haha.

Hydration layering for redness and dryness from within

Partway through, they photographed my skin again with an ultra-precise camera, then moved on to full care with solutions and products to match. I have facial redness, but my skin is also sensitive and very dry on the inside, so they layered on moisture in many thin coats, then applied a firm moisturizing cream to build a barrier on my skin. The facial mixed hand techniques and devices, and I felt so drowsy and relaxed throughout that I kept drifting off.

After about two hours of care, I tidied up my hair in the powder room. The whole place is clean and luxurious, and it made me want to keep coming back.

One week of home care with Stern Clinic's skincare

After treatment, Stern Clinic gives you its own skincare products chosen for your skin. They generously gave me cleansing foam, milk, toner, essence and cream, enough to use for about a week.

I used them for a week at home. My skin was always so dry that I lived with a facial mist in hand, but after switching to the Stern Clinic line that dryness disappeared and my skin felt firmer, so I'm very happy with it. You can buy the products on Naver, so I ordered them right away!!!

The price isn't bad (much more reasonable than department store cosmetics), the volume is generous, and above all they're gentle enough for sensitive skin and good for repair and soothing, so I'm satisfied!! ><

Verdict: the redness calmed down and I'm going back

I had quite a lot of facial redness, but thanks to the care at Stern Clinic it feels like it has calmed down a lot. I'll definitely visit again.
