Jeongssi Hambak review | Hamburg omurice & mozza cheese hambak with my husband and baby

On a rare outing with my husband and our baby, we were trying to figure out what to eat. When you're out and about with a baby, you naturally gravitate toward places that aren't too crowded or don't require a long wait. That day, both of us were craving hamburg steak, so we headed to Jeongssi Hambak.
Going out with a baby feels different from the easy meals-out my husband and I used to have as a couple. You have to pack the baby's things, time the meal just right, and stay alert in case the baby gets fussy. Still, once you're actually out and eating something delicious, it becomes its own quiet little happiness.
That day we ordered hamburg omurice and mozza cheese hambak.

Choosing between hamburg omurice and mozzarella cheese hambak
Walking into Jeongssi Hambak, there were so many menu options that we paused for a moment. They have several types of hamburg steak as well as omurice, so we went with what we usually like.
I'm personally a fan of omurice, so I picked the hamburg omurice, while my husband loves cheese, so he ordered the mozza cheese hambak. Ordering different dishes means we each get to taste a bit of the other's.
This meal felt especially special since we were out with our baby that day. My husband and I used to spend our days hunting down good restaurants together; now every outing with our baby feels like a fresh new experience.

Self-serve sides
Free kimchi, pickles and jalapeños at the self-serve bar
Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch has a dedicated self-serve zone. Kimchi, pickles, and jalapeños are all set out so you can help yourself to as much as you need.
Dishes like hamburg steak or omurice come with their own sauce, so they're already tasty on their own, but adding a tangy pickle or spicy jalapeño in between bites really cleans your palate. If you like pairing pickles or jalapeños with meat dishes, you'll enjoy having easy access to the self-serve zone.
Kimchi was available too, which suited Korean palates well. Once our food arrived, we grabbed whatever sides we wanted from the self-serve zone to go with it.
Hamburg omurice: bacon-scented shrimp fried rice under a thin egg blanket
Hamburg omurice

The first dish to arrive was my hamburg omurice, and it looked delicious just to see. A soft egg sheet sat on top of the omurice, with fried rice and hamburg steak layered underneath. The nutty bacon flavor coming through in the fried rice was especially striking.

Instead of plain rice, the added savoriness of the bacon made the fried rice itself feel that much more delicious. And of course, no omurice is complete without egg — eating the soft egg sheet together with the fried rice, then taking a bite of hamburg steak alongside, brought together different textures that worked really well together.
Soft egg, fluffy fried rice, and juicy hamburg steak — a combination that let me enjoy several different flavors within a single dish. Best of all, I could eat hamburg steak and omurice together rather than separately, which made for a satisfying, filling meal.
What does the shrimp fried rice taste like?
What I particularly liked about the hamburg omurice was the fried rice. The shrimp fried rice had a nutty bacon flavor woven through it, giving off a subtle savory taste with every bite.
The shrimp kept the texture interesting, and the salty, savory character of the bacon paired well with the fried rice. Hamburg steak alone can feel a bit heavy, but having fried rice and egg alongside it made for a plate with plenty of variety to enjoy. If you like omurice, this is a dish worth trying at least once.

Soft egg blanket with the hamburg steak
Sometimes when the egg in omurice is overcooked, it can feel a bit dry, but the egg sheet here blended smoothly with the fried rice. Topping a spoonful of fried rice with the egg and pairing it with hamburg steak added a nice softness. It went well with the sauce too, making for a well-balanced dish overall.

Above all, being able to eat hamburg steak and omurice in one go seems like a great option for anyone torn between the two.
Mozzarella cheese hambak, my cheese-loving husband's pick
My husband's order was the mozza cheese hambak. He loves anything with cheese, so he chose it without a second thought — and with cheese piled on top, it looked delicious even before the first bite.
Mozzarella cheese was melted over the hamburg steak, so you could enjoy meat and cheese together. The juicy hamburg steak and sauce, paired with the savory, soft mozzarella, made for a combination that cheese lovers would appreciate. Eating warm hamburg steak together with cheese definitely amped up the savoriness.

My husband said it was delicious and ate happily. I tasted some too, and the savory cheese paired really well with the hamburg steak.
Hamburg steak plus melted cheese: a combination that never fails
Hamburg steak is delicious on its own, but adding cheese gives it a whole different feel. If you like the combination of meat and cheese, the mozza cheese hambak should suit you well. With cheese added, it takes on a softer, more savory character with its own charm compared to a regular hamburg steak. Even though it was my husband's order, I kept sneaking bite after bite.

When a couple dines together, ordering different dishes to share really does seem like the best approach.
Eating out at Jeongssi Hambak with a baby
This visit stuck with me more than usual because it wasn't just my husband and me eating out — it was an outing with our baby. Since our baby was born, even something as simple as eating out requires more preparation than before. There's the baby's things to pack, travel time to keep in mind, and keeping an eye on whether the baby stays okay through the meal.

Still, going out with our baby one outing at a time, we're gradually getting used to it. Eating good food with my husband while chatting about the baby and talking about places we'd like to visit together next — this kind of ordinary time has started to feel more precious lately.
Where chasing down good restaurants used to be a normal part of daily life, now there's a new kind of fun in finding places we can go with the baby.
Which two dishes should a couple order to share?
If you're visiting as a couple like us, ordering different dishes like hamburg omurice and mozza cheese hambak seems like a good idea.

If one person orders the omurice and the other orders the hamburg steak dish, you both get to taste each other's food. I loved the hamburg omurice for letting me enjoy fried rice, egg, and hamburg steak all at once, while my husband, as always, loved the cheese-topped mozza cheese hambak.
You can choose based on your taste: if you like fried rice and omurice, go for the hamburg omurice; if you like the combination of meat and cheese, go for the mozza cheese hambak. Either way, you can pick with confidence.

How the self-serve bar made the meal easier
Beyond the food itself, having the self-serve zone was personally a big plus. Being able to grab as much kimchi, pickles, and jalapeños as we wanted made a great pairing with the meal. Especially with richer dishes like hamburg steak or fried rice, having pickles or jalapeños alongside cleaned my palate, so I kept reaching for them. Anyone who wants kimchi can grab that too. Having these basics handled so conveniently, on top of the main dishes, was a nice touch.
A rare meal out with my husband in Baegot

Going out with our baby and getting a proper meal in felt refreshing and good. These days our life revolves around the baby day to day, so having a relaxed meal with my husband felt more precious than it used to.
Sitting in front of delicious food, chatting about our day, about how well the baby ate and slept, and where we might go together next — before we knew it, the meal was over. Even on an ordinary day, moments like this of eating good food together as a family turn into good memories. Once our baby grows up a bit more, there will come a day when we can pick the menu together and eat as a family. That'll bring its own kind of fun, different from now.
Final thoughts on Jeongssi Hambak Baegot Branch
The dishes we tried this time were hamburg omurice and mozza cheese hambak. The hamburg omurice, with its nutty bacon-scented shrimp fried rice, soft egg sheet, and hamburg steak all together, made for a satisfying, filling plate. The mozza cheese hambak would suit anyone who loves the savory combination of hamburg steak and mozzarella cheese.
On top of that, being able to grab kimchi, pickles, and jalapeños from the self-serve zone let us pair the meal to our taste. Since it was a rare outing with both my husband and our baby, it was a meal I'll remember not just for the food, but for the whole mood of the day.
If you're looking for a place to eat out with a baby, want a filling meal with your partner, or find yourself craving hamburg steak and omurice, this seems like a good spot to visit. Next time, I'd like to try some of their other hamburg dishes. It was a satisfying day out — good food and quality time with family, all in one. ❤️
