Suwon laptop café near Ajou Univ: chocolate financier at Jo Hui-tak

I'm back in Suwon after a long while! Lately I'm so happy spending time at study cafés or cafés that are good for studying. So I went café-hopping near Ajou University in Suwon to catch up on my backlog of blog work and get some focused studying done. Let me introduce Jo Hui-tak Coffee (조희탁커피), a favorite among university students for studying in cafés and a lovely spot for laptop work without feeling watched, and exactly my taste!

Where is Jo Hui-tak Coffee near Ajou University?

Jo Hui-tak Coffee is near Ajou University in Suwon, at 12 Aju-ro 47beon-gil, Paldal-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi, South Korea (1st floor). It sits right in a cute alley with a constant stream of students, so it's very easy to reach, and being on the ground floor makes it easy to find.

There's a adorable puppy character that I absolutely loved. At first I didn't realize how big it is, but once you walk inside, a spacious room opens up!

Besides baked goods, Jo Hui-tak Coffee has homemade cakes filling the showcase. It's a well-known spot for its homemade cakes too! Slices from the showcase can be ordered, and you can also order ahead, so reserving is a must!

You can enjoy coffee and tea at Jo Hui-tak Coffee, and they pair well with the dessert menu. I decided to order an iced Americano, an iced chamomile tea and a chocolate financier (a small almond-butter cake).

There were cute dolls in the shop too, and I just couldn't help taking photos~!

Jo Hui-tak Coffee review event and Americano refill

Jo Hui-tak Coffee was also running a Naver review event (Naver is Korea's big search portal). If you join, you get a homemade chocolate chip cookie as a freebie! On top of that, they refill one Americano when you order one drink per person. Totally amazing...!

You could feel the owner really thinks about customers. I didn't get a refill myself, but it seems great for getting extra refills while you study~!

Inside Jo Hui-tak Coffee: is it a good laptop and study café?

Jo Hui-tak Coffee also has a tidy water station. They sell merchandise made in collaboration with a Suwon character too, so if you're interested, you might want to ask about it. haha

Jo Hui-tak Coffee has outlets well placed at every table and wide desk space, so it's a great environment for laptop work and studying. I only photographed the spots with no customers, but most people there were studying on laptops.

Soft, gentle background music plays too, which seems perfect for assignments or work. There are plenty of solo seats and group seats as well, so it should work for group projects. You can sink into your own time the whole stay without feeling watched.

How do the iced Americano, chamomile tea and chocolate financier taste?

The iced Americano at Jo Hui-tak Coffee has acidity that doesn't stick out, and I really liked its nutty, heavy body. The iced chamomile was very clean and easy to drink, too. It was just right for hydrating without fuss between bouts of work.

The chocolate financier was soft and moist, and I liked its satisfying flavor. It's a café for studying and laptop work that I'd like to come back to. I should try the homemade cake next time. hehe
