Lemon draft beer and the basic side dishes

The lemon draft beer came out first. Draft beer with lemon looks refreshing just by looking at it! I figured it would go well with spicy bone grill. Sitting across from my husband at a weekday lunch gave it a cozy little Seoul date feeling, which I loved.

Basic side dishes: onion, chili pepper, ssamjang, white kimchi and kkakdugi

The basic side dishes were water, onion, chili pepper, ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste), white kimchi and kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi). They're things you can nibble on while eating the main dish. And when you're eating spicy food, side dishes that reset your palate matter, right?

Bone grill at spice level 2: how hot is it?

Looking over at the open kitchen, I saw them putting fire on the bone grill with a torch! Watching that finishing touch got me even more excited before the food arrived. I think seeing this kind of cooking is one of the fun parts you only get by visiting in person.

And here's the bone grill at last! It looked delicious from the start. We ordered it at spice level 2.

Up close it looked even better, and the spicy seasoning and fire flavor together really got my appetite going. When I tried it, the heat was just right and not overwhelming, so I enjoyed it. Level 2 turned out fine for the two of us.

I picked up one bone and looked it over from every angle. Picking up the bones one by one is half the fun of bone grill, isn't it!

Shooting the bone up close really showed how tempting it looked. If you want a bone grill that's moderately spicy, I think it's worth putting on your list of menu candidates.

And the dish I really want to talk about from that day is the fried cuttlefish! I actually ordered it as a side to go with the bone grill, but when I tried it, it was a real treat.

I lifted up one piece of cuttlefish, and the size of the fritter alone looked great.

Up close, there was a generous amount of cuttlefish inside. It didn't feel like just thick batter; the cuttlefish inside had a real presence.

When I cut it open, the plump cuttlefish showed itself. One bite and both the batter and the cuttlefish were so good. I was happy to enjoy the crispy outside and the cuttlefish inside together.

I also dipped it into the sauce that came with it. It was tasty plain, but with the sauce it became a different flavor. Personally, the fried cuttlefish was the one I remember most from what we ordered that day.

If you're planning to have bone grill in Euljiro, try ordering the fried cuttlefish too. It's fun alternating between the main dish and the side.
