Hanam restaurant weekday evening seafood tomato pasta set: Bokkeriu

Searching for a good restaurant for a friend's birthday, I found Bokkeriu, a well-known steak spot in Hanam. It's right in front of the Han River, so we could enjoy the sunset walk afterward too, and the food was so good I kept gasping while eating it!

01. Bokkeriu's exterior, right by the Han River walking path

This is Bokkeriu as seen from the path toward the Han River. The landscaping with pine trees and flowers is really well done, and since I was standing right on the Han River walking path, the whole place gave off a 'I'm surrounded by nature!' feeling while eating.

02. Is parking at Bokkeriu easy to find?

Bokkeriu has a spacious parking lot. There's a lot right in front of the restaurant, and the first floor of the building is also parking, so we could park comfortably and go straight to our meal.

03. Inside Bokkeriu and booking a weekday evening table

Bokkeriu occupies the 2nd and 3rd floors. Walking in, there's a waiting-room-like space, and past that opens up a spacious dining area.

I booked for a weekday evening, 5:30 pm! Besides us, about two more parties came in, so we got to eat in a really quiet atmosphere. Sitting there in person, it feels much more upscale than the photos suggest, and the openness is genuinely great.

The background music was calm and lovely, and the view outside was really pretty! It felt like eating in a forest. This seems like a great place to come for an anniversary.

The kitchen was half-open too. They were cooking so quietly you'd barely notice!

04. What comes in Bokkeriu's two-person steak set

I'd researched ahead and ordered the two-person steak set consisting of pre-meal bread + soup + salad + pasta + steak + dessert. The lineup was generous and had the advantage of letting me have the steak I love and my friend have the pasta she loves, all at once!

After ordering, they brought out tableware including a bread knife and a steak knife.

Bread, corn soup and ricotta salad

The bread and salad came out, and the soup was corn soup. Dipping the bread in the soup, it was nutty with a big burst of corn flavor — really tasty.

The salad was a ricotta salad. With balsamic sauce, fresh vegetables, and various nuts like walnuts and cashews mixed in, it felt full of freshness and nuttiness.

Seafood tomato pasta

Right as we were finishing the salad, our chosen seafood tomato pasta arrived. My friend, who's dieting, picked pasta instead of lasagna, and the burst of tomato aroma was incomparable to the pasta you make at home with store-bought sauce!

Around this point I got thirsty, so I opened the sparkling water I'd ordered haha. It was the exact same brand I drank in Italy, in a bottle, and seeing it we ended up talking about Europe for ages haha.

I scooped out a portion of the pasta. The shrimp were plump and there was plenty of ragu sauce. The noodles were cooked al dente just right — it was so, so, so delicious from start to finish haha.

200g Korean beef striploin, medium-rare

While we were eating the pasta, the steak came out. The 200g Korean beef striploin steak with vegetables was generous too. You can choose the doneness, and we asked for medium-rare — it was so tender, I think we chose right. The zucchini, paprika, and mushrooms were well grilled too, but the onion in particular was really delicious haha.

Dessert: Basque cheesecake

Once we finished the steak, they bring out dessert if you ask — it was Basque cheesecake. It was great being able to enjoy the whole meal, from start to dessert, all in one sitting haha.
