Why we picked Kkweda omakase in Pangyo for a weekday couple date

Kkweda Pangyo Avenue France Branch (꿰다 판교아브뉴프랑점) is a fusion omakase whose menu changes with the seasons. I booked a dinner course for a long-overdue weekday date with my husband 🤍 I wanted a tasty meal in a nice atmosphere, and when I searched, lots of reviews called it a great-value omakase, so we chose Kkweda.

Kkweda Pangyo location, parking and reservations

Kkweda is in Avenue France in Pangyo (25 Dongpangyo-ro 177beon-gil, Unit 143, 1F, Pangyo Hoban Summit Place), so parking was easy. It's on the main street by Olive Young, so it wasn't hard to find, and the exterior looks clean and neat. I'd wanted to try it for a while〰️

Kkweda runs lunch, dinner 1st seating and dinner 2nd seating. We booked through Naver for the 5 PM dinner 1st seating. From the reviews I read, lots of people come for anniversaries or dates!

Inside Kkweda: atmosphere and seating

The inside of Kkweda Pangyo Avenue France Branch felt clean and comfortable. Besides the bar table, there are regular tables and private rooms, so it looks fine for family meals or gatherings as well as dates, and the soft lighting is just right for anyone hunting for an anniversary restaurant in Pangyo.

Kkweda dinner course price and what's in it

The Kkweda dinner course is ₩75,000 per person, and ordering a drink is required at dinner. We were told the current season's course is called "Spring and Jang" (봄과 장) '◡'

You can also order a hanwoo uni maki (beef and sea urchin roll) as an add-on, and since we love uni, we added one each.

Do you have to drink? One drink each and the alcohol-free mojito

Dinner at Kkweda requires one drink per person, but there are non-alcoholic options too, so we ordered the alcohol-free mojito. We didn't drink alcohol, but there was a wide range of it.

The alcohol-free mojito was fresh and cool, great for cleansing the palate between courses.

Kkweda spring course, dish by dish

Cold potato soup

The first dish, cold potato soup, had a gentle potato flavor topped with sweet shrimp, and the kohlrabi pickle underneath added a nice texture. Smooth and crunchy at the same time.

Barley salad

The barley salad was served on endive with barley, quinoa, tomato and more, and it had a really lovely nuttiness. Personally it felt like eating a tasty poke bowl!

Steamed abalone and eggplant

The steamed abalone and eggplant came topped with abalone broth set like jelly, and the eggplant was fried, so you got several textures that worked in harmony. There was a faint lime aroma, and the uni on top made it rich and nutty.

Shrimp cannelloni

The shrimp cannelloni was packed with shrimp inside the pasta tube, and the gochujang bisque sauce carried a deep shrimp aroma too. The cheese flavor was good as well, and personally I really enjoyed this one.

Clear chicken soup

We were told the clear chicken soup blends chicken and abalone broth, and it tasted clean yet deep. The chicken with its faint charcoal-grilled aroma was especially delicious.

Add-on: hanwoo uni maki

The hanwoo uni maki we added mid-course was loaded with both uni and hanwoo (Korean beef), so it was fun to take a full bite. If you like uni, I recommend adding it✔️

Roast beef

The roast beef was sous vide hanwoo striploin, so it was really tender, and it paired well with mugwort, asparagus and bangpung namul (a wild herb). The meat itself was well seasoned, so it was tasty on its own, and eaten together with the sides it had another kind of charm.

Eel katsudon

The eel katsudon, the final main dish of the course, had really crispy fried eel and wasn't as greasy as I expected. It came with shishito peppers and miso soup, so the balance was good, and it was filling as the last meal of the course. Good good

Rare cheesecake

The last dessert was a rare cheesecake. Made with cream cheese and yogurt, it wasn't heavy and finished the meal on a fresh note 🙌🏻

Is Kkweda in Pangyo good for an anniversary date?

Overall, it felt like a lot of care went into every dish at Kkweda Pangyo Avenue France Branch, and the friendly explanations made the meal even more satisfying! The course was varied enough that it never got boring, and plenty of dishes used seasonal ingredients, which made eating fun too.

With the atmosphere on top, it was satisfying as a date course and seems fine for a special day too. If you're looking for an anniversary restaurant in Pangyo or a good omakase with a nice mood, Kkweda is worth a visit ◡̈
