Fresh eel prepared every morning, and fresh meat—not frozen. Songnim Bok Jangeo, a great all-you-can-eat eel spot in Jungang-dong.

Songnim Bok Jangeo Freshwater Eel All-You-Can-Eat Ansan City Hall Direct Store 🐟

I really, really love eel, but because of the price I usually only eat one or two at a meal. This time, though, I went with a friend to a place where we could eat as much eel as we wanted!!
A walkable location from Ansan City Hall
It is near Ansan City Hall, so you can get there in around five minutes on foot. If you are looking for it from the Jungang-dong shopping street, it is roughly diagonally across from the former Newcore building. I found it while looking for eel in Jungang-dong, and then found out it was all-you-can-eat! For an eel lover like me, there could not have been happier news!! (*´꒳`*)/
The exterior of a restaurant that prepares eel every morning

While looking around outside, something caught my eye. They work at the wholesale market at dawn every day...?? Σ٩(๑º ロ º๑)۶ Since it was an all-you-can-eat eel restaurant, I wondered if it might be frozen, but they prepare it every morning—so I thought we could really eat our fill of fresh eel.
A spacious interior for company dinners, too

When I opened the door and went in, the restaurant was much bigger than I expected! It is shaped a bit like an L, with even more seating farther inside. There was plenty of space between the tables too, so it looked much more comfortable even for a larger group~

Since it is right across from Ansan City Hall, it seemed to be a popular spot for company dinners. The generous size of the restaurant made it clear why it would be perfect for visiting as a group. (๑•᎑<๑)ー☆
All-you-can-eat eel prices and what we ordered

Songnim Bok Jangeo Freshwater Eel All-You-Can-Eat also has regular meal dishes in addition to unlimited eel! Unlimited adult meals are ₩29,000, children’s are ₩14,000, and the table setting fee is ₩3,000. Pork belly and chicken neck meat are unlimited along with the eel, which is probably why there is a separate table setting fee!

There is also a display in one corner of the restaurant showing the ingredients’ origins! Domestic freshwater eel! ♩¨̮(ง ˙˘˙ )ว♩¨̮ My friend and I visited as a pair! (We seriously ate until we were bursting, then headed home patting our bellies,,,)
2 adult all-you-can-eat meals ₩59,800 / table setting fee ₩3,000 / steamed rice ₩1,000 / 2 soft drinks ₩4,000
Self-serve side dishes and 2 hours of unlimited eel

Perhaps because it is an all-you-can-eat place, there was also a self-serve bar inside where you could bring back as many side dishes as you wanted. And the main ingredient! The most important thing: eel! You can eat as much unlimited eel as you want for two hours. ✧*。٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و✧*。

Besides ssam greens (wrap vegetables), the side dishes included green onion kimchi, pickled perilla leaves, ginger, aged white kimchi, and pickled onions! My friend loves ginger, so they ate it with ginger and green onion kimchi, while I had aged white kimchi and pickled onions. I especially loved the aged kimchi and eel combination. The rich, nutty eel and clean taste of kimchi worked so well together that I kept eating it. Highly, highly recommended! ദ്ദി,,-`_´-)੭
Eel and meat grilled directly over charcoal

At Songnim Bok Jangeo Freshwater Eel All-You-Can-Eat, you grill the eel yourself over charcoal! First, we grilled the skin side, then cooked the flesh side, and finally cut it up and grilled the sides until golden too. ‧₊˚ 𓐐⋅(⸝⸝ᵔ⤙ᵔ⸝⸝)

At first, the charcoal heat was strong, so we adjusted it slowly to keep the skin from burning. As time passed, the fire calmed down little by little and became perfect for grilling at our own pace!!

The eel grilled nicely over charcoal was crispy outside and moist inside. Best of all, it had none of eel’s characteristic fishy smell! Once it turned golden, it also took on such a savory aroma that my chopsticks could not stop moving!! *´ސު`*

If you eat only eel nonstop, you might get a little tired of its characteristic richness. But having pork belly or chicken neck meat in between meant we could enjoy lots of variety for the entire two hours without getting tired of it. ヾ(⸝⸝ ´༥` ⸝⸝)ノ Ah, honestly,,, this was such, such, such a delicious all-you-can-eat eel restaurant!!!
My final thoughts after eating with a friend
- Crispy yet moist eel grilled directly over charcoal
- Unlimited pork belly and chicken neck meat, too
- Easy access near Ansan City Hall and Jungang-dong
- A spacious restaurant that is great for conversation at company dinners or family meals
My friend said, “I had no idea an all-you-can-eat eel restaurant like this had opened in Jungang-dong,” and said they wanted to come back with family next time. I want to return with my boyfriend next time too ⊹.(⸝⸝ ˆ ³(⁎˃ᴗ˂⁎)˚. The location was good, the restaurant was spacious, and the tables were nicely spread out rather than crowded, so we could eat comfortably. And on this day, I was simply happy to eat all the eel I love to my heart’s content ♡
