In short

Chome is a Japanese-style ramen and mazesoba restaurant in the Noryangjin food alley in Dongjak, Seoul. The blogger and a partner drove to Chome and ordered mazesoba with extra meat, cho ramen topped with pork belly and pork neck chashu, and futomaki (thick sushi roll) filled with salmon, fried shrimp and rolled omelette, then mixed rice into the leftover mazesoba. Even ordered generously, the three dishes came to under ₩35,000, making Chome a great-value Japanese spot in Noryangjin for two.

I really love Japanese food. I adore sushi, but I'm just as crazy about dishes like mazesoba (brothless mixed noodles) and ramen. Mazesoba especially only shows its real charm at a truly good place, and today I went to my go-to spot that I'd happily eat at every day: Chome, a mazesoba and ramen restaurant in Noryangjin!

Chome storefront in the Noryangjin food alley

Where is Chome in Noryangjin, and where do you park?

Chome is in the Noryangjin food alley (1st floor, 10 Manyang-ro 14-gil, Dongjak-gu, Seoul), so it was very easy to find. There's no private parking lot, so if you're driving, use the public car park a 5-minute walk away! I came by car with my partner, and the lack of parking was a little disappointing.

Does Chome feel like Japan inside?

Even the outside of Chome is full of Japanese vibes. The sign says Chome, and you can read the menu from outside. Love that Japan feel, right? The inside will surprise you even more, so let's head in!

Chome interior with Japanese posters and newspapers on the walls

The inside felt like someone had lifted a piece of Japan and set it down here. Great atmosphere, right? Japanese posters and newspapers cover the walls, and I was honestly amazed wondering where they found them all!

Character figurines on display at Chome

There are cute figurines too, from Shin-chan to Super Mario, with everything in between! Anyone who loves Japanese characters will want them all, haha.

It felt so Japanese that my partner said it was like being in Japan.

Chome tables for 2 to 4 people

What are the seats, ordering method and ramen prices at Chome?

The tables are well prepared, with seats for 2, 3 and 4 people! It looked great for a group meal with friends too.

Ordering tablet and menu at a Chome table

Every table has a tablet, so you can sit back and pick your menu comfortably, and ramen starts at ₩9,500. So cheap, right? This is the place that's great value and delicious!

Chome tableware and folded aprons

The tableware is neat and clean too. Even the aprons are folded so nicely, what a thoughtful touch..🤍

Seasonings and baechu kimchi on a Chome table

The tables have all kinds of seasonings and baechu kimchi (napa cabbage kimchi) too! The kimchi is so good, haha.

Coke Zero and a cup of ice on a Chome table

We ordered mazesoba, cho ramen and futomaki at Chome

We went all out and ordered mazesoba, cho ramen and futomaki (thick sushi roll). Coke Zero is a must~ and they even gave us a cup of ice.

Chome mazesoba with extra meat

The mazesoba has arrived! I added extra meat, and the look of it is incredible, isn't it?

Chome futomaki filled with salmon, fried shrimp and rolled omelet

What's inside Chome's futomaki?

The futomaki, a roll you take in one big bite, came out too. Chome's futomaki is generously packed with salmon, fried shrimp, rolled omelet and more. It's so, so delicious, a flavor I'd want to eat every day..

Chome cho ramen with extra chashu

Cho ramen with extra pork belly and pork neck chashu

The cho ramen came out too, and anyone who loves ramen will definitely love Chome's. The broth is deep and the toppings are generous. Meat lovers, you have to add meat! I added both pork belly chashu and pork neck chashu, haha.

Spread of dishes ordered at Chome

How much does a meal for two cost at Chome?

Even with mazesoba, cho ramen, futomaki and extra meat, the total didn't go over ₩35,000. The table was practically groaning, right? Even ordering this much, the price wasn't a burden.

Mixing the Chome mazesoba

How to enjoy Chome's mazesoba: free extra noodles and mixing in rice

Mix Chome's mazesoba well before eating, and if you want more noodles, you can get extra for free! I skipped extra noodles because I wanted to mix in rice. Every bite is a dopamine hit..

Chome mazesoba mixed with rice

Mixing rice into the mazesoba is the best, isn't it? I can't let go of this taste, so I'll be back this weekend..

Eating a piece of Chome futomaki

In between, I dug into the generous futomaki too. The portions are really big, so it was a great-value meal for two. My family and my partner are both happy with this place!
