Gongneung Stream bakery café, coffee run with my husband: Pine Terrace
In short
Pine Terrace is a two-story bakery café near Gongneung Stream in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi. On a coffee run with her husband, the writer had salt bread, truffle salt bread, olive ciabatta, cheesecake and 2 iced americanos, and watched real trains pass from the 2nd floor. Pine Terrace's truffle salt bread, packed with truffle all the way through, was good enough to come back for.

What kind of bakery café is Pine Terrace in Goyang?
Pine Terrace is a two-story bakery café in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, known for its wide variety of breads, roomy seating and the view of trains passing outside the window. I went with my husband.
It's close to Gongneung Stream, where my husband often runs, so I thought that next time he could run and I could cycle over for a "coffee run" 🏃 and a cup of coffee. Today I'll share what we ate and what I liked about Pine Terrace.

Parking and exterior at Pine Terrace
Pine Terrace has a fairly large parking lot, so it was easy to visit by car. The café runs over two floors, and the landscaping around the building was neatly kept, which made a good first impression.

Pine Terrace's 1st floor and bread display
The 1st floor had many kinds of bread on display and plenty of seating, so it looked like a place a group could visit too.

Right behind the ordering counter is the bakery workspace, so you can watch the staff making and baking the bread, which made me trust the place even more. There were lots of fresh-blended fruit cups, and drinks for kids too, so I thought it was a good café for families.

Is the bread at Pine Terrace displayed hygienically?
All the bread was neatly displayed and even covered, so I was happy with the hygiene too. And true to a bakery café, the selection was quite varied. It stood out to me all the more because not long ago I saw a fly buzzing around unwrapped bread at another bakery and just walked out.

What we ordered at Pine Terrace
We ordered salt bread, truffle salt bread, olive ciabatta, cheesecake and two iced americanos. There was so much tempting bread that we deliberated for ages before choosing.
At checkout, the staff asked first whether we wanted the bread cut, a small touch that showed their attentiveness. After ordering, we went up to the 2nd floor and found a seat.

Is Pine Terrace's 2nd-floor terrace cool in summer?
The 2nd-floor terrace has vinyl doors and several air conditioners running, so it was far cooler and more comfortable than I expected. The 2nd floor is split into an indoor area and a terrace area, and it seemed fine to use even in midsummer.

How does Pine Terrace's truffle salt bread taste?
The most memorable item at Pine Terrace was by far the truffle salt bread. It wasn't just a truffle aroma on the outside; it was packed with truffle all the way through, and from the first bite I kept saying, "This is really good!"
The olive ciabatta also had plenty of olives, and its chewy texture and plain, savory flavor went well together. The cheesecake was soft and sweet, nice with coffee. The coffee was nutty with almost no acidity, so it paired well with the bread, and we were happy with everything we ordered.
Can you really see trains from Pine Terrace's 2nd floor?
Sitting on the 2nd floor with coffee, you can actually see trains passing outside the window. There's a railway on the way to the café, and at first I assumed it was an old, disused track and didn't think much of it, but it turned out to be a real, working line.
Looking out the window with my coffee and seeing a train 🚂 go by made me feel like I was on a trip. Kids would love it even more, so I'd recommend this café to families.

Pine Terrace restrooms and final verdict
The restrooms are on the 1st floor, separate for men and women, and convenient to use. With a big parking lot, comfortable seating and a wide range of bakery items, it's an easy café to visit.
The truffle salt bread in particular was good enough that I'd come back for it, and being able to watch trains pass from inside the café felt like Pine Terrace's own special charm. If you're looking for a bakery café in Goyang where you can relax with family, I'd recommend Pine Terrace.
