I tried grilling premium omasum and daechang at home for the first time after only ever having them when eating out. I received the Ieum Marinated Premium Omasum and Daechang Set 200g at a time when I did not have room for dining out, and it was also great served over rice as a rice bowl.

How were the delivery and packaging?
When I ordered it, it arrived the next day. I was busy and unable to eat out, so I was happy that it came so quickly.

Since it was my first time grilling it at home, I was a little worried. The product was carefully vacuum-packed, and the premium omasum and daechang were thoroughly coated in a rich marinade.

Was frying-pan cooking easy, with little oil splatter?
After thawing it, I put it in a frying pan and cooked it. There was plenty of marinade already on it, so I did not add anything else, and I turned it as it cooked so it would not burn. Once it started cooking, the sweet-spicy aroma of the marinade filled the house.

I worried that it would splatter a lot of oil, but cooking it slowly over medium heat was not as bad as I expected. While it cooked, I lightly pressed it with paper towels to remove some of the oil.

How were the aroma, seasoning, and texture?
As fat rendered from the daechang (beef large intestine), it became crisp outside and chewy inside. The premium omasum had a nutty flavor that came through the more I chewed it.

To my taste, there was almost no off smell. The nutty flavor of the premium omasum and daechang remained even through the seasoning, so it was easy to eat without feeling heavy.

The seasoning was sweet and spicy, and each piece was well flavored. It did not taste overly salty or sweet, which made it good with rice.
How much is 200g, and does it go well with rice?
At first, I wondered whether 200g might be too little, but because these are rich cuts, it was more filling than I expected. For me, it made a hearty meal for one, or a decent amount for two people to share as a simple drinking snack.
I also had it over rice like a rice bowl. The marinade soaked slightly into the rice, and I liked the combination of a piece of daechang with it.

Would I buy it again?
The process was simple—just thaw it and cook it in a frying pan—and the chewy texture and nutty flavor went well with the sweet-spicy marinade, so I would like to buy it again.

I thought it would be nice when I want to create a simple at-home dining mood or am craving daechang. Next time, I am going to add green onions or garlic chives.
