Sinnonhyeon Korean BBQ with aged kkodeulsal platter: Sansol
In short
Sansol Sinnonhyeon is an aged-pork Korean BBQ restaurant right in front of Sinnonhyeon Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Two of us came for a wedding invitation dinner and ordered the Sansol mixed platter for 2-3 people (56,000 won) with aged pork belly, aged marbled pork shoulder and aged kkodeulsal (chewy pork skirt), plus country doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) at 9,000 won, and the downdraft grill in every table kept the smoke smell out of our clothes. With a private room for 6-8 people and free corkage, Sansol Sinnonhyeon works well for group gatherings.

When I look for a BBQ restaurant in Nonhyeon, I'm not just after the taste of the meat — I'm also thinking about atmosphere, seating, ventilation, and whether the space works for a group gathering. This time I visited Sansol, a well-known Sinnonhyeon restaurant, for a wedding invitation get-together. It's a place where you can taste fresh, aged pork from various cuts, and the clean interior made it feel just as suited to a wedding invite meetup as to friend gatherings, work dinners, or dates.
What I care about most at a BBQ place is whether the smell clings to my clothes, and Sansol has special cast-iron grills installed at every table that keep the meat juicy while a well-designed ventilation system pulls the smoke away, so I could eat cleanly the whole time without worrying about smell. Really convenient 👍👍
Where is Sansol Sinnonhyeon, and how do you book a table?
Sansol Sinnonhyeon is at 15 Gangnam-daero 112-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, ground floor, right in front of Sinnonhyeon Station. It's open daily from 16:00 to 23:00, and opens at 12:00 on Saturdays and Sundays.

Being right in front of Sinnonhyeon Station makes it easy to find, and I noticed everyone in the group liked meeting near the station area haha.

Especially for a gathering like a wedding invite meetup where several people come together, location and space matter just as much as the food, and Sansol was a good fit on that front too 👍

And it's also free corkage!
Inside Sansol Sinnonhyeon: clean dining room and strong ventilation
You can also book Sansol Sinnonhyeon directly through Catch Table. The interior overall had a clean, modern atmosphere.

The first thing that caught my eye upon entering was this aging chamber, where you can watch the meat go through the process of becoming delicious — it feels like a space that guarantees the quality of the meat 👍

The interior is basically black-based, and black tends to give an impression of cleanliness and sophistication. On that note, personally I think it works great as a date spot but would hold up just as well for a blind date.

The 6-8 person private room and the downdraft grills
The table seating at Sansol Sinnonhyeon is really spacious and generous, so you don't need to worry about seat space at all. There's also a private room that fits 6-8 people, so groups can enjoy a meal unbothered by outside noise.

Each table has its own individual grill built with a downdraft suction system, so the smoke created while grilling gets pulled downward — the ventilation is well set up so there's much less worry about the smell lingering. That's a huge advantage 👍
What's in the Sansol mixed platter for 2-3 people?
We ordered the mixed platter (₩56,000). It's a good amount for 2-3 people. There were two of us women and we had a bit left over, but we ate really full and satisfied 👍

The basic side dishes come out really generously

Fresh kimchi, pickled vegetables, aged kimchi, salad, spicy radish salad, and more. What I liked even more is that they serve Maldon salt, wild garlic wasabi, herring roe, and barley-based ssamjang, all of which paired well with the meat — great for dipping in different ways.
Having plentiful side dishes is a real perk when eating meat, since you get to mix it up.

You order from a kiosk at each table. We also ordered the country doenjang jjigae (₩9,000).
How the aged pork belly, shoulder and kkodeulsal tasted 🫶
There's even a cute little pinecone decoration. A place that's truly committed to its concept haha. The set is aged pork belly, aged pork shoulder, and aged kkodeulsal.

Zucchini, king oyster mushroom, and corn were also on the plate. Staff grill everything piece by piece for you, but if you'd rather grill it yourself, you can just ask.

How well each cut is grilled matters a lot, so having staff grill it for you means you get to taste it right at its best.

✔️ Aged pork belly — it has the characteristic savory fattiness of pork belly, but it wasn't overly greasy, so it went well with the variety of side dishes. Personally, I found pork belly paired best with the Maldon salt and wild garlic wasabi!

It came in nice bite-sized pieces, full of juice, with a tender, delicious chew.
✔️ Aged pork shoulder — the shoulder had good thickness for a satisfying chew without being tough, and let you taste the meat's own clean flavor. Personally, since the shoulder is on the milder side, it paired really well with the ssamjang-type sauces 👍

✔️ Aged kkodeulsal — an unexpectedly great cut... and it's not a common one, right? Personally this was the piece I enjoyed the most. Of course the other cuts were tasty too, but true to its name, the texture was really chewy. It has a different charm from meat that melts softly — the more you chew, the more savory meat aroma comes through, and it has just the right springiness that keeps you chewing, yet it's tender enough to disappear after a few bites 👍
Country doenjang jjigae for 9,000 won
The doenjang jjigae had a flavor that's hard to dislike, so it paired well with the meat. The rich soybean paste flavor combined with the hot broth acted like a palate cleanser between spoonfuls while eating the meat.

Having the doenjang jjigae alongside made the meal feel much more filling than just eating meat non-stop!
Final verdict: is Sansol Sinnonhyeon a good spot for a group dinner?
Visiting Sansol in Sinnonhyeon for this wedding invitation gathering, it was satisfying not just for the taste of the meat but as a meetup spot overall. The mixed platter, where you can taste aged pork belly, aged pork shoulder, and aged kkodeulsal all at once, was fun for comparing the different cuts, and the springy, chewy texture of the aged kkodeulsal was especially the most interesting and unexpected — a flavor I'd want to come back for.
Thanks to the staff grilling the meat for us, we could focus on conversation during the gathering instead of worrying about the grill. And above all, the special ventilation-grill system meaning almost no smell clung to us was the biggest advantage.
So I think this is a BBQ restaurant that suits all kinds of occasions in Sinnonhyeon — wedding invite meetups, friend gatherings, work dinners, dates. If you're looking for a place near Sinnonhyeon where you can enjoy delicious aged meat and talk comfortably, I'd recommend giving Sansol a try.
