Today I went to Dambaek Jujeom (담백주점), a pub in Hapjeong. It just opened, so it's very clean and the staff are friendly... I love places like that. I said Hapjeong pub, but you could call it a Sangsu pub too, because it's right in the middle! That day I tried something called bamboo liquor and it was so interesting. Let me introduce it.

What are the atmosphere and seating like at Dambaek Jujeom?
Dambaek Jujeom has lots of drinks. Plenty of unusual ones, and of course regular soju too.

There's also a group area at the back that feels like a private room.

The space between seats at this Hapjeong pub is wide, which I really like. The tables are huge too. Nothing feels cramped... so it's great for dates. It's also a good pick if you're looking for a quiet pub in Sangsu. It's not dead silent, but it's just right for talking. Maybe it's because I don't want to go to loud pubs these days... I like places like this, haha.

Dambaek Jujeom drinks, menu and prices
As a Korean pub in Sangsu, Dambaek Jujeom has all kinds of drinks to match the food, plus tonic and soft drinks. Beer, cheongju (refined rice wine), makgeolli (rice wine), soju and more... I want to try them all.

If you do the Naver receipt review event, you get one of soju, beer or a side dish, wow... Soju prices these days are legendary, so this was really nice.

There are set menus too. I wondered whether to order one or not... and ended up ordering à la carte. The whole menu is on the Dambaek Jujeom Naver Place page, so check it out there! This is what I ordered.
- Cabbage roll hot pot ₩22,000
- Shrimp potato pancake ₩16,000 (+ cheese ₩2,000)
- Bamboo liquor ₩8,000

I was browsing the drink fridge at Dambaek Jujeom and the bamboo liquor looked so fun, haha, that I just ordered it. When I posted it on my story, a surprising number of people knew about it???

Table setting and side dishes at Dambaek Jujeom
The basic setup at Dambaek Jujeom came with rice crackers, so I crunched away on them.

Even the water isn't plain water, which I love.

Besides the rice crackers, a really classy-looking side dish came out too, and I loved it...

What does bamboo liquor taste like?
The bamboo liquor at Dambaek Jujeom (₩8,000) tastes like Chungha (a sake-style brand). But it's a bit sweeter and cleaner, with a faint bamboo scent. I came to a Hapjeong pub, so how could I not drink? It was delicious.

Everything I ordered is here!! The food at Dambaek Jujeom is deliciously clean-tasting, which I liked.

Is Dambaek Jujeom's cabbage roll hot pot worth ordering?
I recommend the cabbage roll hot pot at Dambaek Jujeom (₩22,000) because the broth is clear and clean. I think a clear, clean, tasty broth is what matters, and Dambaek Jujeom really nails it... I was so satisfied. Personally, cabbage roll hot pot is average everywhere, so I don't usually recommend it, but here the broth is so clean and goes well with drinks. I recommend this one.

How was the shrimp potato pancake with cheese?
The shrimp potato pancake at Dambaek Jujeom (₩16,000, extra cheese ₩2,000) had plump shrimp on top, which was great.

So I cut it into slices like a pizza. Peperoncino on top of the cheese was a total genius touch.

Look at that lift! It's crispy but not too greasy, which I loved. The food at Dambaek Jujeom really goes well with drinks, and I hope you'll try the bamboo liquor too.

I dipped it in soy sauce with Cheongyang chili pepper (though I think that might be the sauce for the cabbage hot pot... haha)

I dipped it in ketchup too, and ketchup was more my style. Then a sip of drink to match... The portion was quite generous too.

The shrimp are plump too. I really love shrimp, and it's a letdown when they're too small. But these are big cocktail shrimp, nice and plump, so I liked them.

Is Dambaek Jujeom a good date pub in Hapjeong?
The cabbage roll hot pot at Dambaek Jujeom comes with enoki mushrooms, chives, cabbage, oyster mushrooms, meat, shiitake and more, and the broth is just. Amazing. I had it with the bamboo liquor and it was so good, the atmosphere was nice, and the friendly staff made it even better. It only just opened, so it's clean too. If you're looking for a Hapjeong date pub, I hope you'll give Dambaek Jujeom a try.
