Seongsu poke spot: staff-pick Saea Bowl with steak, Le Vegie Wang
In short
Le Vegie Wang Seongsu Space (르베지왕 성수공간) is a poke and salad bowl shop on Yeonmujang 1-gil in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. On the staff's recommendation, the blogger topped a Saea Bowl with flat iron steak (5,500 won extra) and added a Singha sparkling water (2,500 won), and was impressed by a sauce unlike the usual chain poke shops, ripe avocado and fresh vegetables. Verdict: for a healthy lunch in Seongsu that still tastes great, the Saea Bowl with steak at Le Vegie Wang is the one to order.

I couldn't decide what to eat in Seongsu and wanted something light, so I wandered into Le Vegie Wang (르베지왕). The name is so funny and so powerful, hahaha. It's a poke place. Honestly I didn't expect much, but to get straight to the point: Le Vegie Wang was the best poke I've had in a long time, the best poke spot in Seongsu for me.

What are the exterior and atmosphere of Le Vegie Wang like?
Even the outside of Le Vegie Wang Seongsu Space looks a bit like a clothing store. So I walked in thinking, "Is this really a poke place in Seongsu...?" hahaha

The staff were so kind too... I was really touched. And it's a fully open kitchen, so you can clearly see how cleanly they prepare everything.

What did I order at Le Vegie Wang?
At Le Vegie Wang Seongsu Space I ordered a Saea Bowl with a steak topping added, plus a sparkling water (₩2,500). Looking at the menu, I couldn't decide between the Saea Bowl with steak added or the Steak Bowl with garlic shrimp added, so I asked the staff, who recommended one right away, and I ordered just that. Saea Bowl with steak, decided~~ I felt like having sparkling water, so I got one too. It's ₩2,500.

Le Vegie Wang in Seongsu has notices with the Wi-Fi password and the restroom password. They also sell pasta, not just poke. Curry rice and sandwiches too.

They've launched a Pork Bowl, which looks like it would be good too. They also sell tempeh, unusually... It's a traditional Indonesian fermented soybean food, apparently nutty and mild. I'm curious.

Le Vegie Wang sells merch too, hahaha. The quality looks pretty good.

Looking at it now, is that real and not a model...? I'm not sure, but anyway, even to the eye it looks very fresh.

Café-like interior at Le Vegie Wang Seongsu Space
I don't know if they have a dog, but there was no dog when I went, only a dog house. But doesn't it really look like a Seongsu café?? The interior vibes are so good.

Look at this. If this isn't a café, what is?

And as you can see, there are books and board games too, hahaha. Le Vegie Wang has a fun mix of little props to look around at.

Saea Bowl with a steak topping: how did it taste?
Saea Bowl + steak topping with a Singha sparkling water~ super aesthetic, right?

When it came out, the basic Saea Bowl with steak on top already looked quite hearty. Shrimp + vegetables + a grain base, with meat added, gives lots of different textures, so it's fun to eat.

Is the ₩5,500 skirt steak topping worth adding?
Adding the steak topping to the Le Vegie Wang Saea Bowl was a great choice for a solid dose of protein... The extra ₩5,500 doesn't feel wasteful: the skirt steak comes cut into bite-size pieces and cooked just right. It's not tough but tender, so it was easy to pick up together with the salad vegetables.

The flavor isn't overly intense, but it's a balance you can keep eating, which is why I liked it even more. A good place for when you want to eat healthy in Seongsu but don't want to give up on taste. I'd come again. The crunchy corn, cucumber and bell pepper blend nicely with the shrimp, giving a pleasant texture with every bite. I liked how varied the textures were.

Garlic shrimp, avocado and yellow rice
The garlic shrimp in the Saea Bowl is plump too, and the garlic aroma is very Korean.

The avocado is ripened so well. Tasty avocado for the first time in ages...

The rice is yellow too. What kind of rice is it, turmeric rice? I don't know, but it's delicious. It feels healthy.

The vegetables are really fresh too. Super crunchy, amazing.

What makes Le Vegie Wang's poke different from other poke places?
I think what made Le Vegie Wang's poke special was the sauce. Pile a spoonful with rice, vegetables and lots of toppings and you'll go wow. It's my number one among the poke and salad bowls I've had lately... Poke chains all taste kind of similar because the sauces are similar, don't they...? But Le Vegie Wang doesn't have that common sauce taste, so it feels like a genuinely great, delicious dish.

The beef of the veggie world (avocado) and the beef of the meat world (actual beef) hahahahaha. I loved the very rich flavor.

The vegetables are fresh and everything is well balanced, so I never got tired of it. It pairs cleanly with the drink too. I really recommend the Saea Bowl + steak add-on combo, and I'd order it again next time. If you're deciding on a poke place in Seongsu, give Le Vegie Wang a try.
