Is it a good spot for a group dinner in Beomil-dong?
The tables are nicely spaced and there's a separate group room, so it works well for bigger parties. When I walked in, the first things I noticed were the wide tables and the tidy interior. It looked good for company dinners or family gatherings with lots of people. If you're hunting for a group dinner spot in Beomil-dong, it's worth a look.

The basic spread: side dishes, seaweed soup and free hanwoo yukhoe
At Hanuso Dwitgogi Beomil Branch, the basic setup came with side dishes and a warm seaweed soup (miyeokguk).

The hot, mild seaweed soup felt like it settled my stomach before the meat. And on top of that, we got free hanwoo yukhoe (Korean beef tartare)!

The hanwoo yukhoe had an appetizing red color and was sliced thin, so it was soft and easy to enjoy.

The gentle seasoning went together with nutty sesame oil, and the minced garlic added extra flavor, so I kept reaching for more. Even though it was a freebie, I was really satisfied with it.

300g of hanwoo dwitgogi: how were the portion and taste?
The 300g of hanwoo dwitgogi at Hanuso Dwitgogi Beomil Branch was more generous than I expected, nutty on the outside and juicy inside. The moment the meat arrived, I was already happy with the hearty portion!

The vivid red color with just the right amount of marbling looked delicious on sight. Getting 300g of hanwoo at this price felt like decent value.

When the meat went on the grill, the sizzling sound alone got my appetite going.

Taking a bite of a well-cooked piece, it was nutty outside and juicy inside, with a deep beefy flavor the more I chewed. The chewy texture dwitgogi is known for was appealing too. It's not tough, more like fun to chew!

Dipped lightly in salt, the natural flavor of the meat came alive, and eating it with the side dishes gave a different taste again.

Finishing with doenjang stew
After meat at Hanuso, the finish has to be doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew)! The savory doenjang aroma and rich broth felt like they cleaned up my palate. It was salty yet deeply savory, and went really well with rice. Filling up on meat and finishing with a warm stew made the whole meal even more satisfying haha.
