Cheonan café for a brunch platter and olive salt bread: Siyudang

What is Siyudang, the large brunch café in Pungse, Cheonan?

Siyudang is a large brunch café in Pungse-myeon, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan, Chungnam. Drinks and desserts run daily 10:00-21:00 (last order 20:30), brunch runs 10:00-17:00, and dinner runs 17:00-21:00 (last order 20:00). It's a spacious café with a huge variety on the menu and a spot where you can get a life shot.

I finally made it to Siyudang, this big brunch café in Cheonan! I personally love spending leisurely time at large cafés haha, and I finally got to go... I found this place while scrolling through friends' photos wondering 'where is this?'... turns out there's a hidden photo spot here, hehe.

There are seats outside too, but it was way too hot that day so outdoor was a pass!!! I want to try eating outside in the fall... please hurry up and end, summer, ㅜㅜ

Siyudang's menu: brunch and dinner at different hours

Siyudang boasts a really huge menu. And almost everything is delicious... The menu is split into categories, but brunch and dinner are served at different times, so keep that in mind when ordering!!! We basically did an opening run in the morning to make sure we could get brunch, hehe.

The weather was so bright and sunny that day, so the outside view we looked at while enjoying the cool AC was seriously pretty. There was even a piano outside, and the vibe felt kind of like stepping into a Studio Ghibli film... such a fascinating experience.

Siyudang of course has high chairs ready to go. The 3rd floor was completely packed so we grabbed a seat on the 2nd floor! It's just that popular... Next time I really want the 3rd floor for sure (because the outside view is way prettier from up there).

There are also comfy sofa seats ready, so you can sit wherever you like. There's an elevator too, so getting around was easy, lol.

Time to browse the bread... Everything looked so delicious that it took forever to choose ㅜㅜ Everything just looked so good.

What really caught my eye were these salt breads... so plump and puffy, looking way too delicious ㅜㅜ Next time I'm definitely going to try the hotteok (Korean sweet pancake) salt bread.

There were also so many kinds of cake!! With such a variety of slice cakes, picking one out looked like it would be really fun, lol. True to a large café, the variety is really impressive.

Siyudang's current events: a raffle ticket for a receipt review

Siyudang is running several events. They're giving out raffle tickets for writing a receipt review, offering discounts when you order a brunch menu with a drink, and more — so definitely make sure to take part, haha.

Olive salt bread full of butter pockets

Still, I couldn't just walk past bread that looked this good, so I ordered two! And they were seriously delicious... I ordered the olive salt bread in particular because it seemed unusual, and I was so surprised at how much it was my style. It was packed with a butter cave inside too, so I ate it so happily ㅜ.ㅜ

Shrimp open sandwich, 15,800 won, and octopus leg squid ink risotto

And then the brunch menu we ordered!! Pretty hearty for brunch, right? My sister insisted I absolutely had to try the octopus leg squid ink risotto, so I ordered it, and it really was a choice I didn't regret at all, haha.

First up, the brunch menu shrimp open sandwich~! ₩15,800. This is genuinely a signature-worthy item. The shrimp is really tender, and above all, the combination with the rye bread underneath is so good. They pile on the toppings generously too, so just this plus an americano is basically... a trip to paradise.

The octopus leg was tender and soft, and they really gave us a big piece, lol. It's been such a long time since I've come across a large café that serves food this well made.

And then Siyudang's signature menu! The ₩34,800 brunch platter! Mushroom soup, ricotta cheese salad, grilled bacon, grilled sausage, and grilled shrimp too... seriously amazing, haha. Honestly my mom wanted to order it, and I guess a menu that's famous as a signature is famous for a reason... Everyone around us was eating this too, so ordering it felt like a given.

Next time I'll come with my boyfriend, hehe. Siyudang was so satisfying — 100% would come back!!
