What kind of restaurant is Square 21?

Square 21 Pasta & Steak is a restaurant that has held the same spot near Seonyudo Park for a long time. They make their sauces from scratch with good ingredients, which makes it special and tasty. Recommended for dates, company dinners and office lunches.

Where is Square 21 near Seonyudo Station?

Square 21 is on the ground floor of Kolon Digital Tower, near Seonyudo Park. Facing the building entrance, go around slightly to the left and you'll find it.

And there's cozy little Square 21, a Seonyudo Station favorite that has held this spot for a whole 11 years. There's even one outdoor table, haha. It's hot, though, so let's head into the cool indoors.

Square 21 seating and busy hours

Inside Square 21 there are about 7–8 tables. On weekday lunchtimes it fills up with office workers from Kolon Tower. I visited at 7 p.m., and by 7:30–8 it was about 70% full.

There's a fishbowl terrarium at the entrance, and I scanned the QR code because I was curious what happens there at night, haha. If you're curious too, go visit~~~

Square 21 was running a draft beer deal, 2+1, so it's perfect if three of you come. Enjoy delicious steak, pasta and ice-cold draft beer!

Square 21 menu and what's in the set for two

The Square 21 menu also has a weekday lunch menu, and it's good value. Today I'm having the two-person set! It comes with seafood tomato pasta by default, but I swapped it for Italian gukbap (seafood earthenware-pot risotto).

My friend said, "With a menu this good, we can't go without wine!" and ordered Square 21's house wine.

The bread before the meal is really soft and delicious. I heard they bake it in the restaurant themselves, haha. Seonyudo Station favorite, confirmed!!!

The Square 21 two-person set includes a salad, pasta (can be swapped), a tower burger and a drink. First up, the salad. The dressing is tasty and goes really well with the cheese. It woke my appetite right up.

What is Italian gukbap at Square 21?

Italian gukbap has the same sauce as the tomato seafood earthenware-pot pasta, but it has barley rice instead of noodles, so I guess that's why it's called gukbap (rice soup), haha. Since the tower burger comes with a cream sauce, I recommend picking a spicy pasta or risotto. The two went really well together.

How does Square 21's tower burger steak taste?

The last dish of the two-person set is the tower burger. It has onion, hamburger steak, tomato, hash brown, pineapple, and there's even rice at the very bottom. It looked too good to cut, but we were hungry, so let's dig in.

It's so tall that it falls apart as you cut it, so just combine whichever ingredients you want to eat however you like.

Here's a cross-section of the tower burger steak. With so many ingredients, it's fun to eat and fun to look at. And of course it tastes good too. The hash brown is really crispy and delicious, and the hamburger steak, needless to say~~~

With cheese and hamburger steak together, yum~~~~ The sauce is a rich cream sauce, but it isn't heavy and goes perfectly with the steak.

At the very bottom of the tower burger is black rice. The rice at Square 21 is good too. It's so sweet and chewy that it's delicious even on its own!! The tower burger steak is a hit in looks and taste, so I recommend it as a date menu.

In between bites I refreshed with the Italian gukbap. It was spicy with a cool, fresh seafood flavor, and delicious.

The springy barley rice gave it a nice texture too.

It's also generously packed with shrimp, squid, mussels and clams. Square 21 is a Seonyudo Station favorite that doesn't skimp on ingredients.

Square 21 set for two: portions and verdict

The Square 21 two-person set is really big!! The chef, with 30 years of experience, makes everything himself with great care, so it's really delicious. I recommend it for anniversary dates, office lunches and group dinners. Eat, then take a walk in the Han River park, and your date course is done in a flash ♡
