Munjeong pot rice restaurant, organic rice and minari sauce: Gome Mui

In short

Gome Mui Songpa Munjeong is a Japanese sotbap (pot rice) restaurant on basement level 1 of Tera Tower at Munjeong Station in Songpa, Seoul. A couple ordered the salmon pot rice and abalone pot rice for lunch, mixed them up, then turned the leftover crust into nurungji (scorched rice) with hot water from a thermos; the Korean organic rice, organic soy sauce and minari (water parsley) sauce stood out most. With good ingredients and quiet, friendly service, Gome Mui is a Munjeong Station pot rice spot you can bring kids to with peace of mind.

My husband's favorite: salmon pot rice

My husband said he wanted pot rice, so I didn't hesitate for a second and we went to Gome Mui, haha. Gome Mui Songpa Munjeong is genuinely one of my favorite spots in Songpa — great taste, kind service, and quality ingredients all in one place.

What's the vibe and seating like at Gome Mui Munjeong?

Gome Mui Munjeong has a modern interior with warm lighting, and seating ranges from solo tables to a table for six. It's located inside Tera Tower near Munjeong Station, an area full of office workers, so it was really easy to find.

The clean, tidy exterior caught my eye, and as soon as I stepped inside, the warm lighting and modern interior felt comfortable. During the day it's a lively spot great for a hearty Munjeong Station lunch, and in the evening it's just as good as a Munjeong Station dinner spot for a relaxed meal to unwind after the day.

What I liked most is that with everything from solo seating to small groups and a table for six, you can comfortably come here with pretty much anyone.

What ingredients does Gome Mui use in its pot rice?

Gome Mui says it uses domestic organic rice, organic soy sauce, domestic sun-dried salt, domestic Wando abalone, and domestic minari (water parsley) and mushrooms. Knowing they use such high-quality ingredients so generously built even more trust, and the neatly set table and careful tableware made me feel well taken care of — that signature Gome Mui touch of quality really came through.

The main reason I hold back on eating out with my kids is the ingredients, so I was really satisfied that Gome Mui uses things I'd be happy to feed them. Naturally, with good ingredients, everything tasted great on its own without any harsh seasoning.

How do you eat Gome Mui's salmon pot rice?

My husband ordered the salmon pot rice at Gome Mui, and the staff kindly explained how to eat it. When the main dish finally arrived, the neat and appetizing spread made it impossible not to take a photo, haha.

I ordered the abalone pot rice at Gome Mui and ate it in the same order as the salmon pot rice, haha.

Following the same steps, I mixed the rice evenly, scooped it into a bowl, and waited for the nurungji.

What I truly fell for was the cooking method and flavor that let the ingredients' natural taste shine through — especially the domestic organic fermented soy sauce and the domestic minari sauce.

The minari sauce is the best

Because the raw ingredients were so good, the sauce was fragrant and savory even without artificial seasoning. The minari sauce was delicious on its own, but wrapped in gim (dried seaweed), it genuinely made me happy, haha.

I highly recommend this as a Munjeong Station pot rice restaurant for anyone wanting a healthy, delicious, hearty meal!

Service at Gome Mui Munjeong and final thoughts

Even during the busy lunch rush, the staff at Gome Mui Munjeong served us quietly and kindly, so we ate comfortably. Their calm, attentive service throughout the meal really stood out.

Gome Mui Munjeong was perfect — nothing lacking in atmosphere, taste, or service. It made me want to go back and try another pot rice flavor! I'll have to go again soon — I still can't forget that minari sauce, haha!

One more thing before I wrap up the review — even though I was already full after the meal, I still cleaned out every bit of the nurungji, thanks to this trio of side dishes. The pot rice paired perfectly with them, and so did the sungnyung (scorched rice tea).
