Gwacheon hair salon layered digital perm for heavy hair: One & Only

Why does hair grow out so fast and get frizzy so fast, too... haha. My hair had become so frizzy and heavy lately that it was time for a lighter cut and a fresh perm, so I went to One & Only Hair Gwacheon Government Complex Station (원앤온리헤어 과천청사역점), a hair salon near Government Complex Gwacheon Station. I got a digital setting perm from a designer famous as a bob genius, and I was so happy with it that I'm writing a review! hahaha

Where is One & Only Hair Gwacheon Government Complex Station, and is there parking?

The salon is right in front of Government Complex Gwacheon Station, so it's easy to reach by public transport, and parking is easy too, haha.

A spacious, private salon with partitioned seats

The shop is really spacious and clean, haha. The seats are spaced far apart and divided by partitions, so you can stay in a private, comfortable setting. I really liked that!

How a layered cut alone lightened heavy hair

The main reason I went to One & Only Hair was that my hair felt so heavy!! The layered cut was styled to fit my face shape and hair texture perfectly, so I was already in love with it. The layered cut alone made my hair much lighter and neater, haha. As expected from a place famous for layered cuts in Gwacheon!

The shampoo area has partitions too, so I could get my hair washed comfortably!

What to do while the perm solution sets

The salon has clear Wi-Fi info and outlets close by. The interior is really clean, isn't it?! hahaha I read the magazines they had ready, and the long, boring wait while the solution sets passed quickly without a dull moment :)

They even gave me a warm, golden-grilled toast snack and a drink, so I never got hungry and enjoyed it.

One designer from start to finish

The salon works on a 1:1 designer responsibility system, so my designer personally handled everything from the cut and shampoo to the perm solution and rod wrapping, start to finish. At many other salons the designer takes other clients too and staff step in partway, so I liked this, haha!

Digital setting perm results and how to style them

The digital setting perm gave bouncy yet soft curls, and styling has become really easy. It's a style I'd never tried, so I'm glad I took this chance to try something new, haha. I was told I can just let it dry naturally, so it should be easy to manage, haha.

Hair care tips: plenty of essence for dry hair, curl cream when curls loosen

She also explained in detail how to care for and style it. In particular, my hair is dry and absorbs essence well, so I need to apply a lot of essence. The curls are still strong, so I don't need curl cream yet, but once they loosen a little, I should apply curl cream, haha.

• Dry hair: apply a lot of essence
• Skip curl cream while the curls are strong right after the perm
• Apply curl cream once the curls loosen a little
• Day to day, just let it air-dry

Here are the before and after photos, lol. Layered cut + setting perm, a success!! lol I'd always wanted a style like this but kept worrying whether it would suit me :) But the perm turned out pretty and fits my face!
