How the Refus 3D foot scan found flat feet and bunions

At Refus Ilsan Janghang, you fill out a consultation card and have your feet measured by a 3D machine before the care. In this scan I learned for the first time that I have flat feet (low arches), bunions, ankle tilt and a curled big toenail.

Before the actual care, I filled out the consultation card. 🥤I even got a juice as a drink service ><

After that, they checked my feet in detail. They measured and analyzed them with the 3D machine! My results popped up on the computer screen, showing how they compare with the average. I was a bit shocked by what I heard.

• ✅ Low arches (flat feet): my arches were lower than I thought, so I have flat feet. She stressed how important it is to wear custom insoles day to day.
• ✅ Bunions & ankle tilt: a bunion (무지외반증) is when the big toe bends toward the second toe. She said my bunions seem to come from my flat feet, and I was also diagnosed with slightly tilted ankles.
• ✅ Risk of body imbalance: if flat feet are left alone, it's not just the feet that suffer, and the whole body can get out of alignment.
• ✅ Curled big toenail: my big toenail was a little curled, and cutting it round, following the nail shape, makes it worse. She told me to cut it straight across and only file the sharp corners on both sides.

Prima Total Care Step 1: toenail and callus care, step by step

Prima Total Care Step 1 at Refus Ilsan Janghang took place in a private room and went in this order: softening the calluses, toenail care, electric callus removal, sugar scrub, and moisturizing cream. With no one else in the room, I could relax without worrying about how embarrassing my feet looked, which I loved.

During the care I leaned back comfortably in a special chair with adjustable height and angle. My Fußpflegerin carefully adjusted the chair position for each area she worked on, so I stayed comfy. See my drink over there..! I sipped it while getting treated haha

There were lots of dedicated tools and products for foot care, and everything was neatly and hygienically organized.

Softening calluses and toenail care

This is my foot before the care. My toenails weren't well looked after. First, to soften the calluses, she applied a special product and wrapped my feet in plastic wrap. In the meantime, we started with the toenail care!

Clearing old calluses with an electric callus remover

Now for the callus care!! She used an electric callus remover, and every time calluses flew off, the satisfaction was insane lol They're my own calluses, but ew.. It didn't hurt at all, and it felt like the old calluses were wiped clean away. I wanted that device so badly that I asked about it, and she said it's sharper than you'd think, so it can be a bit hard to use on your own.

Finishing with a sugar scrub and moisturizing cream

We finished with a sugar scrub! She applied it and we waited a bit.

At the end she wiped it off with a cloth and finished perfectly with Refus's own moisturizing cream!

Callus care at home: Fußpflegerin's home care tips

The keys to home callus care from the Refus Ilsan Janghang specialist are moisturizing morning and night, layering petroleum jelly on top, and using a sugar scrub instead of a foot file. If you struggle with foot calluses like me, definitely take note!

1️⃣ Moisturizing matters most! (a must, morning and night)

My foot skin is already scaly and its texture is a bit damaged, so she said I really need to take good care of it. Use a foot cream containing urea! Using foot cream together with an oil works well too.

2️⃣ The petroleum jelly combo for moisture

Apply foot cream first, then cover it with petroleum jelly, which works like a smoke screen and doubles the moisturizing effect! If you do this before bed, your feet are really moist the next day.

3️⃣ Skip the foot file and use a sugar scrub

Scrubbing hard and often with a foot file at home irritates the skin and can actually make calluses worse, she said. Instead of a foot file, gently use a sugar scrub about once a week!
