Constitution Day lunch at a Marine City Chinese restaurant: Bueokgan
In short
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is an ocean-view Chinese restaurant in Marine City, Haeundae, Busan. Home in Busan for the Constitution Day holiday weekend, the writer had lunch there with her parents and ordered BUUK jajangmyeon (black bean noodles, 8,000 won), seafood jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup, 18,000 won) and a small black-vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork, 28,000 won). For a Haeundae sea view, Bueokgan Chinese is easy on the wallet, and the small tangsuyuk was plenty for three, making it a satisfying family meal out.

A Constitution Day holiday with my parents at an ocean-view Chinese restaurant in Marine City
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch (부엌간 차이니즈 마린시티점) is an ocean-view Chinese restaurant in Marine City, Haeundae, Busan. I came back to my hometown Busan for the Constitution Day holiday after a long time, and went looking for somewhere to take my parents. Marine City is one of the best ocean-view spots in Busan, so you get tasty Chinese food and a gorgeous sea view together!

What is the sea view like at Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch?
The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the Haeundae sea stretching out wide. Sit by the window and you eat with an open ocean view. Honestly, a Chinese restaurant with this atmosphere and view by the Han River in Seoul would probably cost way more! Here you get a prettier Busan sea and the prices still aren't a burden, so I thought, wouldn't you lose out by not coming here,,
The Bay 101 and Dongbaek Island are nearby too, so it's a nice walking course after the meal.

Is it good for family meals and group gatherings?
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch suits everything from family meals to dates. Besides the ocean-view window seats, there is a spacious group reservation area, so it looked great for family gatherings or get-togethers too!

I went with my parents, and I liked that it feels like an upscale Chinese restaurant yet is comfortable for all ages. Even at weekend lunchtime, guests kept coming in and there was a short wait. Places with a good view really do get noticed 😎

What the three of us ordered: jajangmyeon, jjamppong and tangsuyuk
You order by table order (tablet) at Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch~ It was mom, dad and me, so we ordered jajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce) + jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) + tangsuyuk (Korean sweet and sour pork). The classic Chinese-food combo!

BUUK jajangmyeon (₩8,000)
BUUK jajangmyeon is ₩8,000, a traditional-style jajangmyeon made by simmering thick pork, onion and napa cabbage slowly over low heat. Jajangmyeon these days is often very sweet, but this one had the deep, distinctive flavor of chunjang (black bean paste). The sauce was rich without being greasy and went well with the noodles, so even as a basic dish I was really satisfied. And ₩8,000 is a pretty kind price given today's cost of living!
The seasoning was just right, so it felt like the dish nobody would dislike haha. It's packed with meat :)

Seafood jjamppong (₩18,000)
The seafood jjamppong is ₩18,000 and comes loaded with mussels, octopus, clams, shrimp and more. It looked so full of seafood that I was excited, and the broth was spicy yet refreshing. Thanks to the savory depth from the seafood the broth tasted clean, and with that signature wok smokiness it was a dish I kept reaching for.
An amount of seafood that justifies ₩18,000! Maybe it's because I was eating jjamppong right in front of the sea, but it just felt like a perfect match... 🌊

Black-vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk, small (₩28,000): enough for three?
The small black-vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk is ₩28,000, and the portion was generous enough for the three of us. They say it's Bueokgan Chinese's signature dish. Maybe because the sauce is made with Chinese black vinegar, the flavor was much deeper and richer than ordinary tangsuyuk. I loved the combination of the sweet-and-sour sauce and the crispy batter, and since it's loin, the meat was thick yet tender, which really stood out.
What surprised me most was that even the small size was really generous! It was enough for three, and plenty to order as a main dish.

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch: overall verdict
The food was satisfying, but best of all was being able to eat leisurely while looking out at the Haeundae sea. The atmosphere is great for a date, and it's a perfectly good family-meal spot for taking your parents. If you're looking for an ocean-view restaurant or a Chinese place with a nice atmosphere in Marine City, Busan, I'd recommend Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch 🌊 It was a Busan restaurant where we enjoyed delicious food together with a pretty sea view.
