Why Neukdaewa Yang near Gulpocheon Station for lunch before a fight?
Neukdaewa Yang is a lamb skewer restaurant near Gulpocheon Station in Bupyeong, Incheon. On Saturday, August 22nd, I finished a personal training session in Gangnam in the morning and headed straight to Bupyeong, Incheon. I had an important MMA fight to oversee that afternoon.
Ahead of the match, I stopped by Neukdaewa Yang near Gulpocheon Station for a hearty lunch.
The restaurant is on the 2nd floor of the building, so you can take the elevator up easily.
The moment I stepped inside, the surprisingly spacious and pleasant interior caught my eye.
Lush greenery, stylish stone-wall styling, and even a full-length mirror photo zone gave the place a real sense of atmosphere.
Toward the back, there was a well-arranged private space for enjoying meals with a group.

The self-serve corner and slush machine at Neukdaewa Yang
The self-serve corner at Neukdaewa Yang was well organized so you could freely grab extra side dishes and any utensils you needed.

The drinks fridge was stocked full of cola and cider, plus beer, soju, and other drinks that pair perfectly with lamb skewers.

Every table had a 'slush magic hammer' on it. Tap the bottom of a soju bottle with it and you get slushy, semi-frozen soju floating with ice crystals — sounds like fun, right?

What we ordered at Neukdaewa Yang, and what it cost
After sitting down and browsing the tablet menu, I ordered a variety of dishes to suit my taste.

There were meat dishes like lamb ribs and lamb sirloin too, but this time I decided to focus on sides and skewers.

- Mala lobster tail: ₩22,000
- Smashed cucumber: ₩13,000
- Warm noodle soup: ₩8,900
- Corn skewers: ₩4,900
- Extra garlic: ₩1,000
Corn skewers, 4,900 won: crisp outside, chewy inside
First up, I grilled the corn skewers until golden brown on the grill plate.
Nothing hard about it at all — the outside was crispy and the inside had that appealing chewy texture, almost like glutinous rice.

A subtle sweetness and nutty flavor spread through my mouth.
Warm noodle soup, 8,900 won: how spicy is the broth?

Next came the warm noodle soup, topped generously with onions and meat garnish — the look of it alone made my mouth water.
One sip of the warm, spicy broth and I felt completely restored.

The combination of chewy grilled corn skewers with the spicy noodle soup broth was better than expected — the two were perfect together.

The main dish: mala lobster tail, 22,000 won
Today's main dish, the mala lobster tail, arrived.

Grilled together with scallions, garlic, and onion, it had a deep, fragrant flavor.

You can eat it shell and all, which made it easy to eat, and the distinctive tingly mala aroma and savory taste were outstanding.

I was grateful that the owner threw in some sushi rice on the house (?).

Smashed cucumber, 13,000 won, and a finish of garlic skewers
The smashed cucumber came out in a more generous portion than I expected.
Its refreshing, crunchy texture paired fantastically with the spicy mala lobster tail. I was already full from the large portion, but I finished it happily thanks to how refreshing it was.

At the end of the meal, I added extra garlic and threaded the cloves onto skewers to grill myself.

The nutty aroma and soft texture of the golden-grilled garlic made for an excellent finishing touch.

There was so much left of the mala lobster tail and garlic that I asked to have it packed up, and I was really grateful the owner took care of it.

After the meal at Neukdaewa Yang, and what to order next time
Thanks to that filling, satisfying meal, I got through the fight-day coaching schedule that followed without a hitch, and our fighter came away with a great win!
Between the kind, attentive service, it was such a satisfying time. Next time, I'm planning to head back to Bupyeong, Incheon specifically to try the signature lamb dishes. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a variety of dishes in a clean, pleasant setting.
