Chilled hanwoo yukhoe mulhoe for summer: Yeongdeungpo bar Yeokjeon

I went to Yeokjeon Pojangmacha Yeongdeungpo, which is hot right now on Yeongdeungpo Station's food street! With a spacious retro interior and great-value drinking snacks, I'd recommend it for dates all the way to company dinners near Yeongdeungpo Station.

Yeokjeon Pojangmacha sits right on the main street of Yeongdeungpo Station's food alley, on the 2nd floor. The entrance has such a strong presence that you can find it easily haha

The inside was way bigger than I expected! There's even more space further in, so there are plenty of tables. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a company dinner spot or group gathering bar near Yeongdeungpo Station.

Near the entrance they even thoughtfully set up a phone charger.

The restrooms inside are also separated by gender, so you can use them comfortably while drinking.

The retro interior with old song medleys playing made for a great drinking vibe 👍 Plus there was a baseball game showing on a monitor! We demolished the complimentary macaroni puffed snack before our order even came out.. ^^

What two people ordered, and what it cost

I visited with my boyfriend, just the two of us, and we ordered hanwoo tuppul yukhoe mulhoe (₩18,900), butter garlic fries (₩9,900), spicy fish cake udon (₩8,900), Cass beer (₩5,500), and Saero Omija soju (₩3,900). They had Saero Omija so I tried it for the first time, and it was so good.. totally my type 💘

Hanwoo tuppul yukhoe mulhoe, 18,900 won

It was so hot out that I ordered the cold yukhoe mulhoe — can you see the ice shards floating on top!? Just looking at it feels cooling haha. It had a lot of cheongyang chili in it, so the broth was spicy-sharp and tangy in the most appealing way.

The yukhoe (raw beef tartare) was hanwoo tuppul (top-grade Korean beef) grade, so it wasn't tough at all — chewy and fresh-tasting. The portion was generous too, so I highly recommend the hanwoo tuppul yukhoe mulhoe if you visit in summer!

Butter garlic fries, 9,900 won

This is my favorite beer snack — butter garlic fries! If any other bar has a similar dish, I basically always order it, and I liked that Yeokjeon's fries came in a generous portion too 🫶

The generous sweet butter garlic sauce came with thin fries and thicker wedge-style fries together, which was really satisfying. Best combo with beer.. 🍺🤍

Spicy fish cake udon, 8,900 won

Next up, a perfect soju pairing — spicy fish cake udon!! My boyfriend was on beer and I was on soju that day, so we tried ordering a variety of combos haha

The broth was spicy and deep in a really memorable way, and the chewy noodles with skewered fish cake had a nice nostalgic charm.. The portion wasn't huge, but it was perfect as a side dish! The broth was so good I kept spooning it up haha

Is Yeokjeon Pojangmacha worth it as a good-value bar near Yeongdeungpo Station?

Yeokjeon Pojangmacha Yeongdeungpo was a great place to enjoy a retro vibe along with good-value bar food on Yeongdeungpo Station's food street. The place is spacious with plenty of tables, so it worked well for group gatherings or company dinners near Yeongdeungpo Station, and with such a varied menu, it's easy for a bigger group to each pick something to their taste. If you're looking for an atmospheric pojangmacha-style bar or a great-value drinking spot near Yeongdeungpo Station, I think it's worth a visit!
