Hi! It's Jinjeong, your foodie friend :)
Today I went food-hunting near my office after a while, haha. The craving: beef gopchang (intestine), which I need a periodic transfusion of! Looking for something a bit special, I settled on Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch, which has garlic gopchang and scallion kimchi. It's already famous as a Mokdong group-dinner spot, haha. Let's go collect another great restaurant!
Where is Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch, and what are the hours and parking?
Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch is on the 1st floor of 226-13 Mokdong-dong-ro, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, a 5-minute walk from Omokgyo Station Exit 1. It's open daily 4:00 PM–10:40 PM, Saturday and Sunday from 12:10 PM, and never closes.

Omokgyo Gopchang doesn't have its own parking, so I'd recommend public transit. I used a shared parking app and parked at Hyundai Department Store.
What's on the menu at Omokgyo Gopchang

Check the photo above for the menu! The signature dish is of course garlic gopchang. There's also mixed gopchang, beef gopchang, daechang (large intestine), makchang (abomasum), beef short rib, beef samgyeopsal, and a gopchang hot pot casserole, plus set menus for 2–3, 3–4, and 4–5 people — great if you're with a group and don't want to agonize over choices, haha.
What we ordered at Omokgyo Gopchang
Since we came specifically for the garlic gopchang, we started with one serving of garlic gopchang and one of mixed gopchang, then added another serving of garlic gopchang while eating, lol. (That means it was good, right? Haha.)
Side dishes: scallion kimchi and spicy sundubu
The basic side dishes at Omokgyo Gopchang are salt-sesame sauce and red sauce, plus chive salad, cheonyeop (beef stomach lining tripe), and scallion kimchi. As soon as we sat down, they brought us a vitamin drink too.

It was funny that they gave us a vitamin drink the moment we sat, haha.

The side dishes were clean and unfussy — the dipping sauces for the gopchang were just the salt-sesame sauce and red sauce, plus a nice chive salad and the gopchang-restaurant essential, cheonyeop!
And here's the famous scallion kimchi! They put it right onto the grill as soon as the gopchang came out — once cooked and cut up, it was a perfect match with the gopchang, so good!

Ooh, and I think the real highlight of Omokgyo Gopchang is this spicy sundubu (soft tofu stew). It's fiery and pairs perfectly with gopchang. My boyfriend said he wanted to add another one, lol.

Garlic gopchang and mixed gopchang: how did they taste?
The garlic gopchang at Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch is packed with garlic inside the intestine, so each bite gives you both the savory gopchang and the pungent garlic kick. The daechang in the mixed gopchang, dipped in the red sauce, was rich and savory without being greasy.
And here it is, the star of today — garlic gopchang and mixed gopchang.

At the start they even did a flashy fire show for us, lol. Quite the performance~

The gopchang sizzling away nicely, drool-worthy... there's plenty to pair with it too — bean sprouts, chives, and the scallion kimchi.

This is the garlic gopchang! Both the garlic and the intestine fat are super plentiful — total pass!! One bite gives you the savory richness of the gopchang together with the savory-pungent kick of the garlic, so you never get sick of it.

Daechang can be a bit greasy, so dip it in the red sauce like this, lol. But it wasn't greasy at all, just savory.

The extra order: one more garlic gopchang
After a heated debate, we chose garlic gopchang for our extra order, lol. The gopchang, daechang, makchang, etc. were all plenty delicious, but we wanted the garlic gopchang you can only get at Omokgyo Gopchang!

The garlic popping out as it cooks, lol.
And when I asked if we could add potato, the owner quietly handed us this on the house... so touched, T_T.

Dongchimi noodles and fried rice to finish
For a side we ordered the cool, refreshing dongchimi noodles (chilled radish water kimchi noodles), and again it was the right call, lol. The broth washed away any lingering richness perfectly at the end. I'm a noodle-lover so I slurped up the noodles, and my boyfriend scraped the broth clean to the bottom, lol.

Even when you're stuffed, you have to have the essential K-dessert — fried rice, lol.

We cleaned this up too, like we were going to chew through the hot plate, lol.
Inside and outside Omokgyo Gopchang, and how long is the wait?
Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch is just a short walk from Omokgyo Station Exit 1 toward the restaurant alley, and it was full on a weekday evening past 7pm. We put our name down and were seated in under five minutes.

Just a short walk from Omokgyo Station Exit 1 and you're in the food alley where Omokgyo Gopchang sits! The flashy(?) sign makes it easy to find, haha.

This place has already been on the TV show Live Broadcast Today!

Maybe that's why the interior was completely full even past 7pm on a weekday, wow. Luckily we got seated in under five minutes after putting our name down. Coming really early or a bit later like us seems like the way to avoid waiting!

Since garlic gopchang and scallion kimchi are the hooks here, the interior had matching decor touches all around, lol. The space wasn't cramped either, so it looked great for group gatherings or company dinners!!!
The verdict on Omokgyo Gopchang in Mokdong
Want to enjoy the same old beef gopchang in a different way? Try the garlic gopchang at Omokgyo Gopchang Mokdong Main Branch! The savory garlic tucked inside the intestine keeps it from feeling greasy, and it just keeps going down.
