Square 21 Pasta & Steak is about a 3-minute walk from Seonyudo Station Exit 2, so it's super easy to reach. There's free parking in the building's basement too, so it's great if you're coming by car 😄

My cutie Mija ❤️ and I wanted a good Western-style dinner after a walk in Seonyudo Park, and Square 21 Pasta & Steak is famous as a Seonyudo Station favorite, so we paid a visit!

Is the atmosphere at Square 21 Pasta & Steak good for a date?

Outside, a big sign reading "Square 21" catches your eye, and through the windows you can glimpse a clean, modern interior 🤓 I spotted one outdoor table too, which would be perfect on a nice day, haha.

Inside was cozier and more atmospheric than I expected~ It's a small, tidy space with about 10 tables!

Maybe it was remodeled recently? The interior is so stylish and totally my taste 😣

Warm lighting, wood-toned tables, and a painting of a whale family on one wall brighten up the space. It feels so polished that it'd be great for dates or anniversaries!

You can see the kitchen, so you feel the chef's touch, and the whole place felt clean and comfortable 👍

Square 21 menu and what's in the date-recommended set for two

The date-recommended set for two is ₩47,900. We chose the shrimp and scallop bisque cream pasta (₩23,900) and the tower burger steak (limited to 10 parties a day, ₩22,900). The set also includes bread, salad and drinks, so it's really filling!

As a pasta and steak specialist, Square 21 has a wide menu: lots of pastas such as cream pasta, tomato pasta, ttukbaegi (earthenware pot) pasta, aglio e olio and pane pasta, plus mains like the tower burger steak and sous-vide steak 😙 There's pizza and salad too, and the 2-, 3- and 4-person sets are well put together, so going in a group should be good value! I hear many people praise the quality because the chef, a veteran with 30 years of Western cooking experience, makes the dishes himself.

The set's bread and salad

The bread for the set for two came out almost right after we ordered. It wasn't cold at all, and arrived warm like it had just been baked, which made it even tastier 😚

While we were eating the bread, the salad arrived quickly too! It had lots of cheese, which is totally my style, haha. Above all, you can tell the salad is really fresh, and I loved that!

How does the shrimp and scallop bisque cream pasta taste?

The shrimp and scallop bisque cream pasta (₩23,900) is a new item at Square 21 Pasta & Steak, a rich seafood cream pasta loaded with shrimp and scallops. I ordered it with high hopes because it's new, and it was honestly amazing!

Packed with shrimp and scallops, and the bisque sauce blends well with the cream, so a rich, savory seafood flavor fills your mouth 🤭

The sauce is thick yet not heavy, and you can taste that it was simmered with care for over 12 hours! The noodles are cooked al dente with a nice bite, and it's so addictive that I wanted to scrape up every last bit of sauce. Highly recommended if you like cream pastas!

What is the daily-limited tower burger steak?

The tower burger steak (₩22,900) is Square 21 Pasta & Steak's signature dish, limited to 10 parties a day. Since it's limited, I recommend you definitely try ordering it!

A handmade all-beef patty, hash brown, grilled vegetables, tomato, pineapple, button mushroom cream sauce and even rice are stacked layer by layer like a tower. It looks like a work of art!

The steak is tender and juicy, the cream sauce wraps it in a savory richness, and with all the different ingredients every bite tastes new 😁 It's a fusion style that suits Korean tastes perfectly, so I think everyone of any age would like it! The portion was generous and really filling 🥳

Extra order: orange-yuja ade

We also ordered an orange-yuja (citron) ade (₩6,000), and it was so refreshing! The combo of orange and yuja was cool and fizzy, and it cleaned up the richness of the Western food nicely~ The carbonation was just right, and it works as a dessert substitute too!

Square 21 Pasta & Steak: overall verdict

Square 21 Pasta & Steak, a Seonyudo Station favorite, had really big portions and consistently good flavors overall. It seems there's a reason it has been loved for over 10 years!
