Dujeong-dong budae-jjigae cooked tableside by staff: Cheongwon

Cheongwon Restaurant: Cooking Budae-jjigae, Cheonan Dujeong Main Branch is a Korean restaurant in Dujeong-dong, Cheonan, serving both Songtan-style and Cheongwon-style budae-jjigae (army stew) with unlimited rice and ramyeon noodles. On a weekday visit at 6pm, Cheongwon Restaurant served Songtan budae-jjigae for two with three add-ons — beef brisket, ham sausage and cheese — plus a pork loin cutlet, and a staff member cooked the pot at the table until it was ready to eat. A filling, hearty choice in Dujeong-dong on a day you want a rich, bubbling stew.

Cheonan café with a big table for three and bean gifts: Brewers Coffee

Brewers Coffee Cheonan Sinbu Branch is a baked-goods café in Sinbu-dong, Cheonan, a three-minute walk from Shinsegae Department Store and right beside the Sinbu 4 public parking lot. Visiting with two friends on a weekday just after lunch, the writer was seated at a large table and ordered the signature 041 Coffee at 6,500 won, a salted caramel financier at 3,500 won and a matcha canelé at 4,000 won. Brewers Coffee also recommends beans to match your taste, so the beans and baked treats together make an easy gift.
