Cheonan café with a big table for three and bean gifts: Brewers Coffee

Walking through Buldang-dong last weekend, I passed a place with such a crowd I had to wonder what was going on — that was Brewers Coffee. Turns out there's a branch in Sinbu-dong too, so I went to check it out.

How to find Brewers Coffee Cheonan Sinbu Branch

Brewers Coffee Cheonan Sinbu Branch sits 500m — about a 3-minute walk — from Shinsegae Department Store, right next to the Sinbu 4 public parking lot. I went just a bit past the weekday lunch rush, and customers kept streaming in nonstop. If it's this busy on a weekday, I can't even imagine the weekend crowd~

Right as you walk in, a showcase full of all kinds of baked treats greets you.

Walking through the Sinbu-dong backstreets, you'll spot a black building. There's outdoor seating too. With the sunlight warm and the breeze cool under the shade these days, it's the perfect terrace café mood for this kind of weather.

The Buldang branch also has outdoor seats, and on weekends there wasn't a single free spot inside or out. I have a feeling this branch gets the same way on weekends.

Is there a table for three? Seating and atmosphere at Brewers Coffee

The interior of Brewers Coffee Sinbu Branch has a sleek, cozy vibe in wood and black tones. There's a window-side bar table, plus two-, three-, and four-person tables — a nice variety. Looks great for a solo visit too.

Every seat already had customers, so the three of us were standing around wondering where to sit when the staff kindly told us to take a big table.

And the staff kindness didn't stop there — every time customers came or went, they greeted them so warmly and cheerfully.

Financiers at 3,500 won, madeleines and canelés: the baked goods lineup

Apple Earl Grey financier, vanilla macadamia financier — there are so many financier varieties, and at ₩3,500 each the price feels reasonable.

Everything looks so good I wanted to try one of each.

You don't see canelé (French rum-vanilla pastry) much these days, but Brewers has it!

I love pistachio, I love matcha too... which one do I start with? Ugh, I'd already eaten lunch so I couldn't try everything — so sad. Guess I'll just have to come back, haha. So I started mentally building my own dessert bucket list.

Wait, what is THIS?! Looks like just one would fill you right up, that size and heft — crème brûlée flan, I'll come back for you next time~

Whenever I visit a café known for good coffee, I always try their signature drink and the americano — so today I started with the signature 041 Coffee.

What does the signature 041 Coffee taste like?

041 Coffee is described as a latte with a rich shot poured over soft, walnut-flavored milk. It's named after 041, Cheonan's area code, meant to capture everyday life in the city. When they brought it out, the staff recommended waiting until the espresso settles before drinking. If you wait a bit, you get a coffee with deep sweetness and nutty warmth all at once.

Every once in a while, breaking from routine with something this sweet feels good. It wasn't as intensely sweet as I expected, which suited my taste even better — more like a soft, deep sweetness than the syrupy kind. The combination with the espresso was really nice too, making for a genuinely enjoyable cup.

Salted caramel financier and matcha canelé

With most financiers or madeleines, you can usually guess the ingredients from the name, but it's rare to actually taste every one of those ingredients fully — this financier delivered on that. Both the salted and caramel notes came through rich and clear, with neither one overpowering the other. This place really knows how to make a financier.

Matcha is my thing, so I had to try it. Canelé lives and dies on that crisp-outside, chewy-inside texture, and the texture here was great — the bittersweet matcha flavor was great too!

Brewers Coffee Sinbu Branch also sells coffee beans. When I mentioned what flavor profile I was looking for while ordering, they recommended beans to match.

This would make a great gift for a coffee-loving friend, paired with some of the baked treats!
